  • wtf? wrong title, fool! this ain't AIR CRASH INVESTIGATION/MAYDAY! -______-

  • this is why we need two train tracks not one ok stupid idiots who smoked crack

  • "I got up on a chair, and smashed me head through the glass"

  • i'd hate to be in the toilet during this

  • holly shit

  • @nick199009 HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHH ROFL

  • passenger trains, they really run against the grain

  • what would happen if you jumped and were in mid air just as the trains hit?

  • 1:18) martin peterson; I was going to eat that fuckin dinner, then the train crashed. to make matters worse there was baby screaming after the crash, I said to its mother, "bitch shut your sprog up" I had pains in my side and the paramedics asked me to have a checkup, I told them I was more interested in finishing my breakfast. finally I got home to have a breakfast, but this fuckin freight train slams into my house, dam I just can't get any egg today.

  • 113? bah, I've been on a train with 148

  • Looks like a scene from Unstoppable

  • 3:01 sorry but its kinda funny

  • I think you need to change the name of the video a little as the crash isnt in the AIR.....and air crash investigationg is with planes, not trains :)

  • maybe there would have even more fatalities, but Heavenly Father in name of His Son Jesus, the God makes sure that there were at least few survivers! thank you God! but I would asks and others that why us or why they survived and not he or she or them!? but God knows that and partly us too! God is allways good, world is and the Satan the Devil and His angels is not! : ) trust to Jesus, to God and give your life to Him and you will live forever in beace and joy in a age of 30 - 33! yes : )

  • at 7:08 the girl looks like Thought train: flirt, my hero!

  • omagod!

  • 3:12

    Oh....didn't see you there?

  • and this is why we need a caboose on every train

  • @SkyHighHusky ya it would be better, i don't know why we got rid of cabooses, well actually i do, its to save money, but if you have to pay a third crew member and could avoid another crash like this, i say, money well spent

  • These are the strangest "air" vehicles I've ever seen!

  • i dont think trains fly ?

  • @TheSouthamptongirl it is mate. Its an nickname because dumbasses think the series MAYDAY its all about airplane crashes so the British called it air crash investigation

  • I don't understand why there is only one track. My local train tracks have two tracks side by side, a left side and a right side, like a road.

  • Worst "Air Crash" ever!!! ;-)

  • THE WORST TRAIN CRASH IN HISTORY.

  • 11,000,000 kg at 95 kph. Holy mackerel, that's monstrous momentum! This thing could mow a path through an entire suburb.

  • @bugisami

    32,163.75 kg m/s

*considering my math and conversions are correct

  • Air crash investigation

    We have been trolled

  • Worst train crash ever!

  • @Dinosorable Far from it...a far worse British example took place in 1915 at a tiny place called Quintinshill...try googling it or check out the railway archive...

  • @cogidubnus1953 Is it on YouTube?

  • @Dinosorable There's at least one brief item, plus a recent memorial service

  • @cogidubnus1953 What should I type in to find it?

  • @Dinosorable You could just try Quintinshill

  • @cogidubnus1953 I searched that and found a slideshow of pictures of the crash. It looked as bad as the crash on this video. But did the cars fly in the air in that crash like this one?

  • @Dinosorable with the force of the collision, those cars will fly, i say this as a railway employee, i have seen cars fly like this

  • @Graham987654 It's so terrifying when they fly in the air!

  • @Dinosorable its not that bad unless your, say, close enough to see it

  • @Graham987654 Well, when they drop so high from the air, it can hurt you really bad if you're inside. There's no telling what could happen. I DO know you could get broken bones. I'd hate to be in THAT train.

  • 3:12 Wow, the VIA train is gone

  • @mrtrainboy019 Yeah. It disappeared.

  • now this is what I call "wall of death"!

  • apparently it is. Well, the train cars did indeed fly

  • @tylervanballegooyen so it is

  • When average people are put in tragic circumstances we get to see the true mettle of a man, but rarely does it get the recognition that it deserves.

  • @Zyworski you are so right

  • i thought that two

  • In 50 years all this controller stuff will be done by computer, you will have controllers sitting there monitoring the computers keeping the planes apart. I'm surprised they don't have cockpit cams in addition to the voice and data recorders, surely we have the technology to do this.

  • @ChannelingusXIV this is about trains

  • @ChannelingusXIV controllers can also make mistakes because humans can make mistakes. It won't be fail safe until humans are completely taken out of the loop and replaced by mathematical equations that are proven to always work 100% of the time (ie, computer programs).

  • You can never totally take humans out of the loop, for even if you have a completely automated system that dosent require human intervention during the actual transit, there are still 2 areas where humans interfere with the system.........in maintenance, and in design. Anyone can have a bad day in maintenance, and designers, in their arrogance, always believe they have covered every eventuality.......but in reality they never do.

  • @gobo760 even then it wont be fail safe, what happens when the computer gets a virus or one of the mechanical components breaks, the program could only respond by shutting down, possibly sending a couple 20,000 ton trains at each other

  • Hahaha I love the Yorkshire guys accent... "it were laaaaaake an atom bumb."

  • The Freight train blew par a clear to stop signal

  • To the people who say that this show is supposed to be "air crash investigations".. You're both right and wrong... This particular version is the Canadian version, and is called "Mayday". Other countries took this same show and for whatever reason renamed it...

  • i thought a plane crashed in the train

  • 4:45 cartoon physics.

  • The dispatcher appears to be under the influence of cocaine.

  • LOL couldn't he use a shoe or elbow?

  • Yesterday the same happened in Germany, too.

  • I'm sorry but I understood this to be AIR Crash investigations...not trains. What's up whith that?

  • @dbyington1 It's just a special episode.

  • now thats uncanny, train crashes RIGHT NEXT TO A PILE OF SOFT SAND 6:57

  • @jfsa380

The freight train was carrying grain, one of the cars struck the dome car.

  • plans still crash more then trains air crash there like 10000 vids olny like 2 train vids of trains crashing!!! train are more safer still and better

  • @imkoolkiller99

    1) There are many more planes then trains.

    2) Take the % of plane crashes to the amount of planes, same with trains.

    3) Then compare.

  • Not only did the freight train crew disregard the signals but... it's a mainline that's single-track! Unthinkable!

  • @Naylte No, the frieght train drivers fell asleep. If you sawthe first part, they didn't get much sleep.

  • Why are you people trying to be smartasses, the show is called Mayday. A word train operators use too.

  • hmmm... terrible.

  • I thought the was "Air Crash Investigation".

  • @bg11215 ikr

  • @bg11215 It's a tragedy.

  • @bg11215 Semantics. Trains go through air just as planes do. :p

  • @bg11215 they got bored

  • @bg11215

Well, DUH, travel has become so advanced now we've invented airplanes without wings that run on tracks XD

  • @bg11215 they ran out of air crashes to investigat

  • @bg11215 the train was flying man.

  • 1:20 that breakfast looks pretty good

  • @titanic5577 Yeah, too bad it went to waste :L

  • Are there many mysteries in Canadian Railroad history?

  • may day do train crashes to but more air crashes

  • after watching this, I think a train collision is WAY worse than an aircrash

  • i thought this was air crash investigation, not train crash ivestigation

  • Survivor used Headbutt!

    It's Super-Effective!

    The Glass Panel Fainted!

  • OMG 6:38 that dude must be Bear Grylls' father.

  • when he says oh mah god! i laughed but im sad now cus i feek l bead now

  • hahahahahahaahahahahahahahahahah 6:38 hahahaah holly shit haha

  • OMG did they get to keep some of the grain?

  • how is that air crash investigation its ground train crash investigation

  • @florentlondon i was thinking that myself. the mayday part yes but air crash????

  • 3:06 Old Man: OH MAH GOD!

The part was kind of funny, but the story's still sad though.

  • @david245611 I made a virtual dick so that i can shake it without cumming

  • @TheBeerNut1 They are canadians, what does this have to do with the English/ Anglo saxons?

  • I cant believe this idiot in the other train didnt think to help those in danger

  • When this happened, there was a lot less interest in the effects of sleep deprivation than is now the case- same with heat stress.

And Anglo-Saxon descended people are hardly the only ones capable of mistreating employees.

  • why is this called "Air Crash Investigation/Mayday" ???

It sounds like the same narrator as ACI/mayday but this is not about planes...?

  • Comment removed

  • 3:50 - haha. air crash investigation

  • Don't Mess with a marine who can smash through glass with his head.

  • whaha smashing with your head is always the best way to get out xp

  • how could they know the drivers were asleep??? the blame is on them because they are dead.

  • @lean252000 - if they were asleep, that's forgivable. Harsh schedules and lazy practices.

If they were awake, that's psychotic criminal negligence.

  • since theirs a switch why didnt it crash on the switch it would have jumped and other things would have followed

  • @Bartman1764

The way the switch is designed, it is possible (while inflicting serous damage to the switch) to drive through one that is properly set, and forcibly changing it to allow them to pass.

A train would crash on a switch if it was between position, since that would leave a gap.

  • 3:12 BOOM!! And 3:44=Flying Traincar!!!!! Weeeee!!!

  • sad D: but was the back safe?

  • thatsz crazy!!!!!!!

  • damn i feel crapy and sad

  • That is one detailed simulation

  • People died on that train and you? You speak like it is fun. Try to be in the shoes of these people and see how much fun you have!

  • @TheAntoninusPius yes it did suck but you have to admit the computer simulation was really cool and really realistic

  • for me it keeps pausing itself at 00:19

  • i'm surprised there was anything left of the passenger train.

imagine the momentum the freight train had... 11000 metric tonnes colliding at the combined speed of 200 kph...

  • LMFAO! "one freight car flies through the air..." XD i guess this is the air crash investigation part =P

  • Seems about right. CN hasn't changed much.

  • In countries where the series is known as Air Crash Investigation, episodes about non-aviation disasters such as this one are labelled as "Crash Scene Investigation".

  • LOLZ air crash or land crash?

  • plane, boat, and train crashes have one thing in common, usually, if something goes wrong, it is catastrophic.

  • Pause at 4:05. i feel bad for the passengers on the car.

  • lol @ 6:38

  • @rangersin06

    couldnt help laughing aswell :o

  • @rangersin06 lol

  • wat i don`t gget is when 413 rejoined the main like how it didn`t derail the switch was set so the via train could go below 413 how did it rejoin the line the flanges on the inside of the wheel should have skipped the rail

  • It is called forcing the switch. The same exact kind of thing happened in Chatsworth last November in Los Angeles when the MetroLink hit the Union Pacific freight. The force of the train simply throws the switch back the other direction like a guy kicking open a closed door.

  • And to think, the irony of that crash was because the train operator was texting only seconds before the two trains collided into each other.

I'm also from Los Angeles btw.

  • I don't think they had text messaging in 1986...

  • Comment removed

  • OMG, r u kidding me???? This accident happened back in 1986, not 2009! Maybe the LA air if frying your brain!!!!

  • How thick are you? I am referring to how the events that happened during the 2008 Chatsworth train collision were very similar to the same events that triggered the Hinton train collision in 1986, and that was the failure of the operators on their trains when these tragedies occured to heed and obey the rail signals that told them to stop their trains to avoid an accident.

And you say my brain is fried? Buddy, I think it must be yours if you dont get the logic of this reply when you read it.

  • just asking,is this air crash investigation or train crash?

  • they usually do airplanes but sometimes they do other types of crashes too. same show

  • air crash investigation is the name of the serie usualy makes aircrash investigation bte this time they made a train crash!!

  • Sure...

But seeing as how you have lowered yourself to an even sadder level than expected with your response by calling me an idiot, you have proven that YOU are the real idiot here, not me. And I am not going to bother wasting my breath over you.

  • Have fun living the rest of your life in denial you moronic idiot.

  • what a shame

  • When you work people without proper rest things like this are inevitable. The engineer never should of been allowed to take control of a train with his list of health problems and ultimately the railroad is responsible for this accident.

  • It is unfair that so many people died because of the ignorance of two people.

  • no shit. sleeping on the job, can get a person in some serious trouble, for anyone, right?

  • This collision crash was the frieght train driver's fault. He didn't even notice the light signal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • True, knowing court you have to prove everything to everybody. It's easy to point fingers but evidence shows all. It would be easy for VIA rail to say that CN hit them first, but VIA has to prove it what CN did, Otherwise CN will turn the tables and say VIA hit them first. Court has to see all the evidence and debunk all claims or either one can't claim who is at fault.

  • You are actually right.
