  • ANOTHER John Luongo remix! :) He did a great job with the Shake Your Body (Down To The Ground) remix too, which was released in the US in 1979! :)

  • @ Tatevossian,

Go to eBay.com and you will find many pressings of this 12" remix which date back to the 80's. It was used on numerous subsequent Jacksons 12 inch releases (Torture 12 inch, etc).

  • Sounds like I'm in a Rollerskating Rink. Which is great. Much love to this remix.

Wish they never pulled it off the shelves though.

  • This version finally was granted an official release -- and just this past January. It's on The Jacksons `Destiny' CD, Legacy Edition.

  • Oh really? Glad they did, because this is a REALLY nice remix. Back then, I could understand why they never released it, then after the release of Destiny, I'm clueless of why they didn't.

  • It only took Epic Records thirty years to release this!! By the way, the CD also has the remix version of `Shake Your Body'.

  • @Th4Pr1m3K1n6 LOL OMG IT does sound like were at the SKATING RINK! WOW! you just brought back memories by saying that.. lol love it. i have H/Q of this song in MP3 if anyone needs it... just send me note on here along with your email =)

  • @Th4Pr1m3K1n6 OMG UR SO RIGHT!! LOL BRINGS BACK THE MEMORIES!! HAAAAA!

  • This version is AMAZING

    Thanks..¡¡¡¡¡

  • I heard that!!!!!

  • Bless you, Michael!! You are finally at peace!!!!

  • I've had a listen to some of the other "remixes" of this song on here, but none of them beat this one. This version has a depth to it that none of the others posess. Fair enough they pulled it off the shelves because it would distract from the Destiny album, but I think at the end of the day, this song definetley did the jackson 5 a favour.

  • I agree with your comments about the song doing The Jacksons (not the Jackson 5) a favor. But, at the time, they were trying to establish themselves as serious writers and producers, and didn't want a cover song to distract from that. This remix has been enhanced with compression and echo, so it does sound much more brillant than the other YouTube clips of this song. Thanks for your comments!

  • This. Is. F**king. Immense!

Sorry about the language but this is just amazing!!!

  • This is truly one of the best dance recordings ever made. If you played this in a club today, most people wouldn't have any idea what the hell it is. They'd think it's brand-new song or something, and be shocked to hear that's is 30 years old.

  • You're absolutely right. This always goes down well when it's played at my school. It's a shame that music produced today can never really match this standard.

Thanks very much for uploading. This is brilliant.

  • Yes, indeed. Maybe if today's black producers and performers weren't so captivated by their obession with `bitch', `nigga', and `rims', they could begin to make music as fine as this. But I tend to think that this is wishful thinking.

  • @TatevossianA I hear you on that statement. It can be done. 2pac with all the cussin on his songs, he was capable of doing a few classic clean songs without using nigga, bitch & hoes.

  • It sure is!

  • loves it

  • Dang! I didn't know there was a remix to this song. This song has a good beat to it and you feel like you're at a disco.

  • i need this too, please...

  • dude its been a months i really need this version

  • Hey- I don't think you sent me your email address. Let me have it, and I'll be sure to mail this MP3 to you. Cheers, Armand.

  • omfg where can i download it !!

  • This track is practically impossible to find. It you'd like, give me your email address, and I'll send you my MP3 file. Cheers, Armand.

  • I just heard this remix for the first time today. I LOVE IT! I would like to have a copy of this. Where did you get this copy?

  • michael, the jacksons after all these years still 'KICK' ASS. J-5IVE FOREVER!. YA HEARD!.

  • love it 5 stars!

  • Still one of the most under-rated, and especially, massively under-played, dance songs of the late 70s. That much is certain!

  • very true

  • Was also interesting is a 12" US promo also was released with the remix on both sides; and it had the Epic and Philadelpha International logo on the label. Epic released the U.S. pressing of the remix of "Shake your body" 2 ways. One was on the soundtrack of the Roller disco film 'Skatetown U.S.A'(full 12" remix) and the official U.S. 12 remix with "That's what you get for being polite" on the B-side.Excellent pressing quality too!!!

  • Yes- I have both the original Canadian pressing that was pulled (b/w `Shake Your Body'), and the later official U.S. release of `Shake Your Body' (b/w `That's What You Get For Being Polite'). I also was able to acquire just last year the German release by Mick Jackson of his originally-penned `Blame It On The Boogie'. I recall that a New York D.J. has asked if I would sell him my copy of the Canadian 12-inch, for him to play on his disco radio station. I didn't sell it to him!!
