........... putting a system like this in a Civic Si, or anything else with a NA 4cyl will just be a waste of time and money. First off the system is not cheap, it's going to raise the price of the Civic by at least 5k.. just try and find someone willing to pay 29K for a Civic lol. Plus it's going to add a few hundred pounds and needs TQ to be fully appreciated, in the end an SH-AWD Civic will be slower and more expensive then the FWD Si.
This system i think should only be an Acura exclusive offer. I don't think they should ever put it in Honda vehicles. Just so Acura can be that more desirable.
@MidShipCivic Please feel free to increase your vocabulary higher than that you think are words that actually shout your ignorance level. Get an education, for your own good.
@MidShipCivic You are so imprudent that I could get a better response from An impeded socialist Catatonic pigmy cannibal. Get an education, get a life, and in the mean time, shut the fuck up.
@bxlxix69 You're such a fucking faggot you can't even tell the difference between two system mechanical and electronic now you're going to play as if you're intelligent. Listen monkey you fucken lost this game you will never be able to win.
In fact the reason you're repling after so long is because when you read it my comment hit you where it hurts!
@MidShipCivic Shut the fuck up stupid, say thank you when you get a response to your ignorance, asshole. It's the least you can do. Nobody actually gives a shit what think, say or do. So, shut the fuck up you internet tough guy, girl, whatever the fuck you are...
Note that this is still an A-Symmetrical drive-train layout. Torque-steer is still a huge problem that Subaru figured out many many years ago... And for nearly half the price.
Seen reviews of the car. It's a great system, but it still doesn't perform as well as other traditional AWD systems from high-end carmakers, such as Audi.
Got a question, my young brother stationed in Japan picked up a 95 Skyline GTS-4 and he having probs with the 4wd system says now its only working in Rwd now, anything helpfull would be great
@tamick21 ...bc Subaru AWD system is made to get you out of "snow/ice" while SH is made for "performance cornoring". Guess thats why its called "SuperHandling".
yup, only Acura's selling price, manufacturer can manage to cover the expensive made SH-AWD. unfortunately, honda's selling price is already too lean to cover the cost.
Thank you verry much. Actually i am verry happy whith my CR-V. In sand it's a great car. The other day, i make a 80 kms/h in the beach, coming back from El Palmar to Sisal. It was my little Dakkar. See my last videos.
@amigos1996 That's impossible. Active yaw control and the ability to overdrive the outside wheel by 5% didn't exist in '96. Only the EVO, latest Subarus, and latest Quattro have active yaw control. This Acura system came out in '04 before those iterations of those other systems were around.
sounds like an awesome idea.... as long as it is dry. throw in some unexpected ice on an outside corner when most of the torque is going the the outside rear wheel and... well can you say CARtwheels??
I imagine since this system is used on the RDX which has a K motor in it. You could probly retro fit it to an RSX or Civic Si. Probly would cost a bit thoe

I think Honda should put this system in the C-RV if they want it to be a serious AWD SUV/Crossover.
Current AWD system in CR-V is a total failure!

This system failed on the ice simulation and defeated by a subaru. Check it out.
Search "All ALL WHEEL DRIVES are NOT created equal." will show you the test.

I read somewhere that the gentleman behind this system was an ex-recruit at Nissan. He designed the ATTESA 4WD system first seen on the R32 GT-R

Honda's RealTime AWD is far simpler than the Honda VTM-4 system or Acura's SH-awd system. SH-awd is actually derived from VTM-4 AWD.
