This is not truely 'At Liberty.' At liberty is when the horse is turned loose to do what ever he wants. This horse is 'trained' to do specific manuevers with training tools. Look up 'at will' too. Horses are beautiful when they are doing their own thing :)
@Jayfern12 - it means that the horse has the right to act according to his or her own will since there are no restraints, ropes or other controlling aides. A horse at liberty COULD do as he pleases but he's choosing to interact with his trainer...
I love horses. But I especially love the Lord Jesus who created these beautiful creatures. He is coming back for His own. If you don't know Him, repent and believe. He died for you.
My first opinion is that this lady is a bit forceful. To me it seems this lady is about doing shows and making it a bit dramatic. I am not too much of a fan.
That was an amazing video. And who ever the trainer was good job. But every trainer contributes something that some of you and like and others don't we all have our own opinions. But these trainers are amazing people, devoting their time to make the bond between horse and rider even stronger. So I dont understand why you are degrading them?
Who cares who the trainer is? I mean yea it might be nice, but seriously we all have our own disciplines and thoughts on everything. And it doesn't matter who your trainer is as long as your horse is ok, and you do your best. I mean seriously? come on.
It's true that these are the same types of moves and communication Parelli has used in his teaching. They've been practicing this with Pure Raza Espana horses for a really really long time. I'm glad Parelli has been able to spread this type of horsemanship around the world and make it more accessable to all. Obviously the horses enjoy it and it does build a great bond between horse and human, so who cares where it came from. Enjoy it, use it, or leave it for the rest of us to enjoy.
what a beautiful horse and a delightful presentation...why can't we just enjoy that? I'm saddened to see all the psycho-analytical babbling comments, it takes away from something very nice...horses are individuals just like humans, so analyzing one to the other is not realistic. And poor Pat Parelli got dragged into this...geesh!
I'm with you. Pat Parelli has done a lot for these great creatures. He's opened some very narrow minds when it comes to horsemanship and communication. I feel sorry for the horses that belong to people that are too closed minded to at least attempt to communicate with them on their level.
It is true liberty training - I know because that is Acierto and Laura Amandis - I am personal friends with them and Acierto used to be mine. Feel free to contact me for more information on him , Laura or the training she uses -
That's NOT Parelli training. This is liberty training, been in use for hundreds of years longer than 20 years of Parelli's freaky natural horsemanship.
Parelli is a nice enough guy and he has a nice system designed for Amatuers, but I assure you Parelli is a joke among the real Liberty trainers. Working a horse at liberty is not a "Parreli" thing. If you pay him several thousand dollars he will teach you what a circus trainer can teach you in 10 minutes.
Parelli is more than just "stupid pet tricks". It is a program where anything is possible through the language of the seven games. And just to let you know Pat himself is not even close to the best liberty trainers when compared to his students. Search for "Honza Blaha" or "Mickey Wanzenried" or "Silke Valentine"
auntietoyou a horse dosen't do this if it dosen't trust the handler, he's just fokusing onm what he does, that she shouts is how she does all handlers has own things!
I like Parelli very much but to me he's more for beginning trainers...I've gone through the program and it just doesn't seem to give you a very finished horse in higher levels of training. He gives you the methods to bond with your horse and earn his respect...it's like a starting point before you start on the hard stuff.
I agree. I like him alot because he pretty much saved my horse, and me as well. I wouldn't have my horse if it wasn't for Parelli, and because I don't want to show, Parelli works for me! :-) And honestly, I don't care what people say, Parelli has worked wonders for SO many people! He's amazing :-D
there is no need for using filthy language, I DO have quite the clue about how this horse appears to be acting out of fear. This mouth movement and position of ears, tail flipping, etc all points to harsh training methods. I know very well what I am talking about.
@auntietoyou clearly you dont becuase the chewing is a sign of respect and shows just how much of a strong bond they have and how much he respects her.
I have an Andalusian though he's not white *hehe* I didn't know they could be sorrel but when we checked out the info on him he is an Andalusian and he's GREAT to ride and play with- this one in the vid looks like he was ready to keep playing with her xD
well he was abused so he has some phys. issues so you can only see his Andalusian form and behavior clearly when he's being worked since thats when he's happiest -^.^-
Wonderful! This woman does an amazing job of inspiring her horse. Getting and maintaining that high of a level of energy in a calm rational horse is extremely difficult!!!
I agree with Dizero! The key to an amazing horse isn't just a lot of training and excellent riding, it's finding something that the horse enjoys doing and giving him reason to love it even more! He will give you 100% if you do. When you achieve the true bond between horse and handler/rider and both are truly having fun with the activity, it shows. Such a combo is hard to beat in any equestrian event or horse show. This clip is clearly an example of such an amazing combo.
Awesome! It's great to see a horse perform at this level, and enjoy it. Too many times I see horses do amazing passages, piaffes, etc in hand, but they have a bad look on their face.
he is beautiful i would love to teach my horse how to do that but i have no idel how lol

Parelli is a scam.
Laura Amandis is great, Parelli would take his whole lifetime to get one of his calm little quarter horses to be half this amazing.
I've seen them both and have done clinics with both.
Parelli lovers you have been brain washed... haha, sucks to be you.

Parelli just took training methods that have been around for centuries, repackaged them, and sold them for hundreds of dollars. C'est tout.
TheVelveteenPony 2 years ago
Wrong. Far fewer people would be doing this kind of thing is it wasn't for Pat Parelli.

the horse is stressed, watch his mouth and tongue movements, this is not a gentle trainer, the horse is saying "please, do not hurt me"

no, really, I am not. If you want to see a true bonding between horse and gentle trainer see all Naiade29 videos. That is pure love.
Unfortunally the horse in this video shows signs of harsh treatment.
