ZEDOMAZ!!!! please help. verzion sent me a update on my boinic lastnight. being half way a sleep I didnt think about it. So I went ahead, and let it update the phone. Now when I try to wifi it asked me if Iam rooted. It was fine till I updated. When I click my wifi tether it also say's phone is in unknow state. try to reboot. What do I need to do unroot then

@zedomax Ok Iam back up and running. Well I thought I was. Iam having a problem with the ip address on my playstation3. It picks up the droid, but cannot access the ip address. Whats am I doing wrong.

@bigdog37074 You might have to restart your computer/playstation, it takes several tries to get it working.

I turn off the WPA2 and left the security open, broadcasting channel 11 and with IP 192.168.1.100 ... I'm no longer having issues to connect and to get disconnected every minute ;)

Any idea how to do this procedure on an LG Revolution? after Settings Storage and Settings.db there isn't another "settings". I found a similar table in the settings.db called Secure that has values that can be changed but there is no Entitlement Check.

I got this to work but it counted against my data plan. I'm now over by 1.4gb WTF? I downloaded sqlite editor changed the paramaters and set up the wifi hotspot, got great connection speed and then when I woke up in the morning I had more than 2gb added to my Verizon Data Usage widget. Yes I can connect to xbox live but xbox sends a message saying online experience will be limited with a closed NAT configuration. And they are right, online gaming is unplayable

@gangfightss try turning off/on the tether program and your computer wifi off/on several times, it will work eventually.

@zedomax Hmmm, well the wifi tether works great. its just the regular usb tether that it wont recognize. im trying the usb tether since i dont want to wifi tether my house all the time. I took your suggestion and it still isnt connecting to the internet for the ubs tethering, do you have any more ideas what it might be?

Is this illegal? I am rooted which I know is not illegal, I have downloaded other wi-fi tether programs which is not illegal. However, isn't this "stealing" from Verizon since we are using THEIR service for free even though they charge for it? Will they be able to detect this? I just don't want to do this if it can screw me over.

@StepBangin Just don't abuse it. If you setup wifi tether and download movies 24/7 then you deserve to be caught. If you simply stay within normal usage as in you use it for basic browsing and remote access to other computers then you are not unethical. So if you try to stay under the monthly cap of other plans then how can they do anything legally? In court you could show you did this. The reason they don't publicly allow it is because of idiots downloading movies.

It will work if done properly. This video sucks though. You must first be rooted. Download sq lite. go to "settings storage" that shows hammer and pliers. it will open to "settings.db" click it to open a menu. Then chose "settings". scroll down to line 147 "entitlement check" hold it until menu pops up that gives option to edit record. Change the value from 1 to 0. Save and reboot. You now have free hotspot
