@Canada9990 Not denying that the coyotes struggled with attendance, even during their few successful seasons.. but Glendale is a pain in the butt to get to for most Phoenix residents on a weeknight. Terrible location.

no the reason the team is bankrupt is because of lousy management
the owner is thought to have purposely let the team go into bankrupcy (without notifying the NHL) just so he could sell it to balsillie
they also had an unfavorable lease at the old arena which caused them to lose money as well
this video looks like it was taken just after gates opened, the teams looked like they were going onto the ice for opening warm ups
the attendance for the game (after looking it up) was just over 14,000
