The Indian community wouldn't be any different than the general US population if visa approvals were not based on education level. You don't find better athletes than blacks, you don't find better small businessmen than chinese, and historically the whites brought all this together and made the economy of USA. but there is a correlation of culture and the fact that Indian-Americans are the most prosperous community in North America, not just the fact that they were born on american soil.

Now, unofficially, they can have an hyphenated label such as Indian-American or mexican-American. They are not just Indians or mexicans because they were not born in India or Mexico, or they have renounced their allegiance to India or Mexico (in the case of a naturalized citizen).
Officially, their passports will say American.

The Indian community wouldn't be any different than the general US population if visa approvals were not based on education level.
