But to be fair (in lieu of the tongue-in-cheekiness of your comment), it's not their the same chord progression being identical that people are finding ridiculous; it's that, on top of the chords, the MELODIES are identical. Every minor-key-written pop song seems to have the same chord progression—they don't often steal each other's melodies though, haha
