Englebert was first played for me by my first love in 1980. One evening, she put on the After the Lovin' album, and I was an immediate fan. Eventually the girl went psycho and got all whacked out and left town, but the love of Englebert's music has continued.
I've listened to Andy Williams, Johnny Mathis & Donny Osmond's versions but this one is filled with a deep touch of power and tenderness far beyond, this man's voice is simply perfect
I'm fortunate to been around in the late 60's thru 70's, to see and hear this brilliant singer perform. If anyone has the chance please go, and see him perform.
Magnificent really , words dont express what this gentle man does with a song , I just sit here and listen for a couple of hours everyday , then its back to reality , cup of tea and make dinner , do it much better when I have listened to the MAN & the Voice...Godbless
Augusta, As usual, you have expressed what every Enge fan feels, but doesn't know how to put into words. You are amazing!! Thanks for posting this Maggi.
Ha, ha, thank you! This is because I take my medication for Engelbertitis regularly. (Actually, this is the ONLY medication I Iove and never forget to take! -- and the only one that works, too!)
Another one of Engelbert's jewels. He has such a beautiful voice. This song is sung so tenderly with such passion. Just love the song and the artist. Thanks for sharing Maggi.
Wow, this song is hardly recommendable to people who suffer from a romantic heart "condition", for they may have a heart "attack"! But I took the "risk" of enjoying it because, as far as I'm concerned, I'm a particularly incurable case of chronic Engelbertitis, he, he! Thank you so much for posting!
Love this song!!!
