Women tend to get funnier as they get older, but it is almost impossible for a woman to be funny unless she utilises male mannerisms and attitudes. That's why almost all successful young female comedians are either lesbians, macho, or jewish- so they have the ability to identify with a male audience by 'becoming them' in a sense. Male comedians don't have to do the same with women.

@hydrolito those are sitcoms. and i've personally never laughed at them. and the people laughing in the background are either dubbed in or the audience is told to laugh or applaud. and they are really successful because the media made them successful. they were terrible shows. That were scripted. the writers wrote the humor. the people from friends aren't funny in reality. Now sure there are definitely funny attractive people and ive seen some, like jennamarbles here on youtube, but there rare.

Lino and Letterman write most of their own jokes maybe they did before they became famous I wouldn't know. Most people who tell jokes didn't originate them. Terrible or not if a show is on 10 season it's successful so somebody must like it.Many Block Buster movies in my opinion are terrible the fight scenes are unrealistic, and plots are often repeated in the sequeals. But it sells.

@lastmondaypast1 very belated reply to this but there could be some truth in your comment, I was listening to a radio show the other day where they were interviewing a male comedian, and he did make the point that there are very few good looking male comedians so I think that rule applies to men and women. If you are attractive, you don't 'have' to be funny.

I think....it's favorable to hear more from a funny man because an "innate" cultural view of males being more capable of being silly or stupid. Women aren't known for that kind of silliness. I mean eccentric males show more than females....
in an evolutionary standpoint we are the ones that would NEED to be funny, women usually find that to be an attractive trait, however it's a shame for us but it doesn't barely need saying, that our "choosing a mate" brain function is mostly if not purely visual. so I don't see this as being sexist simply because I believe that "being funny" is completely over rated

I only know one girl who can consistently make me laugh in conversation. There are plenty of women comedians that make me laugh, but most girls, in my experience, are not funny. I can get decent banter with a girl, but I rarely find girls that are laugh out loud funny or really clever. I think part of that is because women don't have to be funny. Guys are concerned more with the visual when selecting a mate. Women seek men that have a wide range of personal qualities and that includes humor.

Yes it's a hobby and to be fair after knowing Greedo for a while through YouTube this was filmed on the day I met him for the 1st time in person. It was filmed in 1 take with minimal preparation so all things considered I think it turned out ok. We met again a year later to film some Christmas specials for this channel and to be honest, they are hilarious.
I am not a nationalist in any sense, but with you being American, a lot of British humour is maybe a bit too subtle for you.
I do like a lot of American comedy and it's pointless getting into any futile subjective debate over which is the best, but it's usually very distinct from the comedy you find in Britain, not just on TV but in everyday conversation etc. I guess there's more of a subtle irony and more sarcasm.

I think you'd get better responses if you didn't negate the efforts of over 50 percent of the population. There *are* a lot of hilarious women out there. Dawn French, Jennifer Saunders, Margaret Cho, Ellen Degeneres, Janeane Garofalo, Madeline Kahn, Kathy Griffin, Whoopi Goldberg, Amy Sedaris, Lily Tomlin, Tracey Ullman, and in my own country, Jane Turner, Gina Riley. I only know one girl who can consistently make me laugh in conversation. There are plenty of women comedians that make me laugh, but most girls, in my experience, are not funny. I can get decent banter with a girl, but I rarely find girls that are laugh out loud funny or really clever. I think part of that is because women don't have to be funny. Guys are concerned more with the visual when selecting a mate. Women seek men that have a wide range of personal qualities and that includes humor.

Yes it's a hobby and to be fair after knowing Greedo for a while through YouTube this was filmed on the day I met him for the 1st time in person. It was filmed in 1 take with minimal preparation so all things considered I think it turned out ok. We met again a year later to film some Christmas specials for this channel and to be honest, they are hilarious.

I am not a nationalist in any sense, but with you being American, a lot of British humour is maybe a bit too subtle for you.
I do like a lot of American comedy and it's pointless getting into any futile subjective debate over which is the best, but it's usually very distinct from the comedy you find in Britain, not just on TV but in everyday conversation etc. I guess there's more of a subtle irony and more sarcasm.
I assure you that this video is very funny, and the rest are even funnier. :D

It's true, women comedians just aren't funny.
A pattern in all women comedians is that
1) They try too hard to make things that aren't funny, into jokes.
2)They tell long, drawn-out jokes that are impossible to relate to.
and
3) They seem to have this fear of offending people...and the ones that don't make an effort to keep restating the fact that they don't care if they offend you. Quite lame actually.
Steven Wright and Chris Rock are funny,
Meanwhile Margret Cho and Lisa Lampanelli are stupid.
