this song was written by dr eric mcCosker lead guitarist with mondo rock it comes from the chemistry album and was a big hit in australia , sung by ross wilson , mondos version is a far better version and would highly recommend to any one who likes this song . springfield would come home to find songs and cover and release in the states , check him out in zoot his early band cheers

"YANKEE" isn't offensive at all. It's used specifically for those who live in New York and New England. But NO ONE except for people from the UK or Australia ever says "Yank". Oh, "Poms" is generally considered derogatory, too. There's a list of derogatory words on Youtube. I've never heard the term "Skippies".

"Pom" is a term of endearment and part of the Australian vernacular.
