@gadget666 you are correct, there are lots of beetles there because there's been a VW factory in Mexico for decades (also because they're reasonably affordable). i believe that factory was the last place on earth the "old" bug was produced, even in to the years that the new beetle was made.

it's a bicycle!!! the video is just sped up a bit for a faster effect. but i bet he was doin an average of 30 mph. the air flow of the traffic helps propel you along, similar to the effect of geese flying in a triangle pattern to break the wind for a more aero dynamics.
