I blame desktop smiley for my computer getting so many viruses that the only options were wipe, or wipe.

I specialise in tracking and security, and with help from a few of my colleagues we were able to obtain the IP adress of desktop smilies origins.

wolfman8325 - Obtaing the IP's isn't too difficult, the problem is that they can easily move elsewhere, but can soon be tracked again :-)

i got desktop smileys here on my computer because my nephew downloaded this. anyway, what does this desktop smiley does besides it is a spyware. avira detect it as HEUR/Malware while installing, said my nephew.

LunaticStranger - Some AV's will detect as malware and most users affected are installing this as an IE or Firefox add-on.....not all browsers are supported so some browsers will not have the toolbar add-on :-)

Fuking smileys. the 2nd virus i ever got was mywebseach. The first was antivirus 2009. that was back when i was a noob. Now i is a PRO!!! Thnks to people like you, mziros, rougewatch, malwarebytes, and Auslogics. Plus Norton. :D

Danerd9 - mywebsearch, desktopsmiley etc are nothing more than spyware laden parasites! Now I don't consider myself a pro as the internet and malware is constantly changing and many of us strive to keep up with these changes and assist others :-)

I Use Avast Antivirus, Superantispyware and malwarebytes. with these three programs, i can destroy all the malware easily.

i would love if SAS was quick at scanning like mbam, i recommend mbam to people too beause its fast, and its obviously good.

deadly1010P - SAS is another good app but mbam is much quicker and lighter on resources, although there are times when SAS needs to be used as the definitions vary slightly :-)

MagiqDust - Malwarebytes adn Antivirus programs are two completely different applications and mbam will work alongside all AV's :-)

chiter200 - YES you can as Avast is an AntiVirus and Malwarebytes is an AntiMalware, the two work very well together :-)

the free version of malwarebytes has no real time protection but the paid one has, so the free one can work with avast, like cotojo1253 said
