I was so glad to see this safety video on this issue!! When my two dogs were playing the younger one's collar got caught on my older dogs mouth and we could not get it loose. The older dog was terrified and the younger dog ended up passing out from being choked! We finally got the collar free and I had to perform CPR on the younger dog because she was no longer breathing! Thank God she came back to us and has grown into a great dog.
I wish I had had one of those collars. I got home yesterday and my favorite dog I've ever had died because her collar got stuck in my other dogs mouth. It's the worst way to go and I feel somewhat to blame.
@Ballistic604 I'm so very sorry to hear about your dog, but please don't blame yourself - most people don't know about the potential for this type of accident - which is why I spread the word whenever I can. There are two excellent collars that are designed to prevent strangulation accidents - the Tazlab Safe-T-Stretch collar and the KeepSafe breakaway collar. Both available online, just do a google search (YouTube doesn't allow URLs in the comments) Again, I'm so sorry for your loss.
