I wanted the Bulls to get the Celtics back for the losses in 86 and 87. I would've liked to seen the match up in 91 and 92. Preferrably 91 so MJ gets by Bird, the Bad Boys and Magic all at once. Reggie Lewis seemed like a stud. Good defender, those long arms really helped and a money shooter with a great mid range game. Bird could still ball, no doubt. Upcoming Pippen against past prime Bird would be interesting. Bulls would win but the reselience of Boston would be there.
@stacksondeck34 As a Bulls fan, Boston wasn't really on my radar during this time. I wanted to beat Detroit -- everyone else took a back seat. Only now... years later, after hearing so many people say Jordan didn't beat Bird would I like another shot at them. But not at the expense of beating the Bad Boys. Imagine what would be said if Chicago had beaten Boston in 91 instead of Detroit. After-the-fact nitpicking haters would have a different anthem -- "They couldn't beat Detroit".
@tjhunt1976 Personally I feel like that the Bulls had to beat the Pistons to erase any doubt about themselves being able to become a championship team. Mostly from a self-confidence standpoint. Also I always felt that the bulls were 1 or 2 years behind Detroit as far as their rise to becoming a championship team. In my opinion it is the same thing that Detroit went through trying to get past the Celtics and Lakers.
@kmon318 However I feel like the Pistons were more evenly matched with the Celtics and Lakers when they were beat by the Celtics in 1987 and then the Lakers in 1988 as both times the Pistons lost it took 7 games for it to happen. The Bulls were not as evenly matched with the Pistons in 1988, 1989, and 1990. However in 1990 the Bulls were much closer to being evenly matched with the Pistons than they were in 1988 and 1989.
@kmon318 Totally agree with everything you said. With Isiah as the centerpiece, it took Detroit 6 years to push Boston to 7 games in 1987. With MJ as the centerpiece, it took Chicago 6 years to push Detroit to 7 games in 1990. Boston toyed with Detroit in 1985 the same way Detroit toyed with Chicago in 1988. Had Detroit played Boston in 1986, they would have lost 3 straight years before finally winning in 1988. That would have been the same arc as Chicago's run against Detroit.

@hangtime23ful I'm aware. It was just a fun hypothetical granted the seeding allowed it. So the way I wanted it was
vs Knicks
vs Celtics
vs Pistons
vs Lakers

@tjhunt1976 I agree. That's why I put the Celtics there instead of the Sixers. Would have been cool.
