Both Seradon and Xeth are your best bets for pop. Join whichever one holds the most interest for you, community/guild-wise...or create toons on each. :) Be proactive if you want/need to group: join a guild and/or bring friends with you. Use chat and the social window ("O" key). Send /tells and ask people if they'd be interested in grouping. Mentoring's in, so don't worry about the population being level-cap heavy. :)

Vanguard is truely the best MMO out to date STILL...WoW can have their cartoon graphics and kiddies, we will stick with a mature playerbase and awesome graphics, Crafting, Diplo...

hey STANDALONE1, I play on Sartok and there is only like 50-60ppl on the server avrg last time checked, is it different on the PVE servers because this is truly a really great game and it saddens me to see such low numbers of players

Search Google for "vanguard forum" and check out the Performance Support section, you should be able to find a fix there. If it hasn't been solved or raised before, just create a new thread for it and describe it in detail (tell them the exact error) and they should be able to help you.

It's more difficult than WoW, more strategic. You get a lot of skills that do very different things so you form strategies

Actually this game is very, very different to other MMOs. I agree that many are very similar, especially the Korean ones, but this game has things like an in-depth crafting system and a diplomacy system, it's like 3 games in one. It is light-years ahead of other MMOs, even ones that are due to be released. Look at Aion, the game everyone is excited about, you just click a button to craft an item, that's it. With Vanguard, crafting is an actual game that involves skill and thought.

I wouldn't say it's very, very different from other MMOs. It's sort of like a cross between WoW and EQ2, imo. Someone could easily say, "Been there, done that."

Having said that, it does have that certain... something. Just little tweaks to combat or characters to make them interesting, the mix of fun yet seriousness to the world, things that can be hard to describe and are more about "feel."

I've said elsewhere that it's sort of like EQ2, but fun. :P

BEST GAME I EVER PLAYED!!! vanguard rlly deserves a MUCH BIGGER AMOUNT of people playing it. i've begged my dad to play it but he dusnt want to. mom seems a LITTLE into it... and i've gotten lots of my friends from school to play it with me! honestly, it really got what it deserved from all the effort they put into it to make it better. 1million/5. :]

Thanks :) I'm not sure about the exact numbers but the earth minion you get very early, level 10 at the latest. It keeps getting stronger as you level up though and you learn higher levels of the skill. Then magma minion you learn as a counter-spell a little later, maybe 20ish or 25. You get wolf form very early, like level 3 or something.

There is obviously something wrong with your computer setup if you get hitching on that rig, either that or you put the settings too high. You won't get smooth max settings on that hardware but set up properly you should get high or very high

The lead developers of Vanguard were making MMOs before WoW was even a concept. They built on their own past ideas (from Everquest, which came out 5 years before WoW) so if anything WoW is a copy of early Vanguard concepts. Get your timelines right.

I'm not sure about the CPU but my wife uses the exact same video card and runs the game at the 2nd-highest render settings at 1680x1050. You should be able to get max settings if you use a smaller resolution.

I personally use an overclocked GTX 280, nForce 790i Ultra SLI motherboard and an Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 and that (with the 185.20 beta driver) allows me to run max settings at 1920x1200 at good framerates.

If you have a good HD, you wont stutter too much, either.

Actually I think you would be surprised. Compared to games like EQII, Vanguard is very optimized. You can't run it at max settings on an old computer for sure, but you can usually run medium settings which are still more attractive than most MMOs. You can always get the trial and see :)
