The second part where they are in the orange costumes was amazing live. I dont know how they keep their endurance, its amazing. There were times when they were on the stage almost the whole time. Alvin Ailey is one of the best modern dance companies ever.

Alvin Ailey didn't choreograph this but it is the Alvin Ailey dance company that did. these are dancers from his studio in NYC. and it's also performed mainly in the alvin ailey dance theatre.

um,that would be because Alvin Ailey is not alive. They are on tour right now performing this so I wouldn't say that it is mainly performed in the AA dance theatre. I just saw this last month. The entire love stories segment is Amazing.

well my director danced with the theatre and i guess ... i'm ... conservative? you know what i mean? i knew in my heart just from watching 2 seconds that alvin couldn't have choreographed this. i just don't like the direction it's going, if this is an indication of it. too commercial for my tastes. and no i'm not offended by your question. was a decent question.

yeah, i saw them perform this up in NYC @ City Center in 2004 at xmas time right after the premiere. it'll give ya chills, for sure. after i saw it, i bought tickets for the next night so i could see it again. i really dig their positive energy. best modern dance company, period.
