  • @runescape i know right he seems very excited

  • you seem eager to put those batteries in... (0:05)

  • is the beam visible in daylight/night ? :)

  • Red laser; only if you're retarded

Green laser; very cool, uses lots of power.

Blue laser; near-ultraviolet light, very intense beam, produces heat.

    Yellow laser; LASER GOD!!!

These have been been placed in order from most to least common.

  • And the great quest for vorkev1's comment begins.

  • Were you able to reliably push the diode? Was the diode the same as the one in the 100mw ver?

  • @R2Processor On the stock driver, no. It came as 25mW and that was where the pot was maxed out. This shows that manufacturers of these things knowingly send out extremely dangerous units sold as "eye-safe" 5mW pointers. That is a HUGE problem.

  • @styropyro hmmm thats not good, Why would they even put a pot then? If you want you could put a wire over where the pot should be for a little extra power... Was the driver the only difference between the 100mw ver or do they both have different drivers? Thx I'm gonna be very careful with this laser for now on! Have you tested the ir+green output of the 5mw ones? I bet they are also very dangerious two! Maybe DX could be getting a lawsuit soon? What about the different diodes of there"true"ones?

  • @R2Processor I haven't messed with the 100mW version so IDK about that. The "True 5mW" green lasers all output between 20mW-50mW of nearly pure green output according to the 30 or so I've went through. They won't get sued cuz they are in China.

  • @styropyro Intresting, Thanks for the input! My <5mW cant burn with a lens, the <30mW pot modded to like 3x the power can burn without a lens, but the 5mW violet can a little when focused. Maybe I was wrong maybe these DX lasers do pack a punch, could be worth it(money for mw&quality-wise)? I heard their <30mW is the most overpowered that is over <5mW. Maybe buy one of their 50mW & 100mW violet. might do some cool tricks & the green "True" lasers over <50mW I heard were bad/pot modded?any input?

  • @R2Processor I can't get those being in the US, all I have to experiment with are the 5mW DX pens and the grossly overspec eBay pens. I've been trying to find a way to get a easy cheap burner out of the DX 5mW pens for a while now.

  • @styropyro can "normal" sunglasses protect your eyes from this?

  • in science we are learning about the spectra and i want to know can those marbles be a good example

  • reminds me of the time I dipped my nuts in coconut oil!

  • why is this more money than green?

  • I've ordered a module for this thing. It's declared to be 30 mW but I think they use the same diode and different pot positions. The maximum current (is it really output current from the driver?) is claimed 250mW, so I think we can achieve 150 mW of optical power with this thing. This is in theory. In fact they can use another diode but even 60 mW is not so bad.

  • can you do that things with green laser pointer (cheep one) ?

  • Is it possible, to do this with a green one?

  • I GOT THE SAME ONE BUT GREEN!

  • Good choice also from proffesional Laserpenshop watch:

  • this isnt a blue laser but blue/violet, the real blue ones are over $500!

  • @ILuvDirtyElectro Who said this laser was blue, I'm gonna assume that you thought blu-ray means that it is a blue laser.

  • @acemace3618

Dealextreme call it a "Blue/Violet" which is somewhat true in the sense that so many objects glow blue under 405nm light but the real colour on a non-fluorescent object is a violet purple

  • @mewrox99 Some really look purple and some blue. The totally blue is with a wavelength of 445nm

  • @heroyang2010

Nope totally blue is 473nm but they're still quite expensive.

445 is a darker shade. Whilst 473 has the really nice sky blue colour

  • should I get this or the wicked lasers core(green,5mw)?

  • can this write on any object?

  • dude buy one from ebay cause they are alot brighter and cheaper

  • sux get a green one

  • Guys he meant that he is a train engineer

  • I didnt know that you can draw etc with a greenlaser. Thanks.

  • Oh cool i bought this but in 100mW! And the order is shipped now after just 8 days! Thats great cuz i have heard of people who have waited for months for their order to ship!

  • does it ship to cairo in egypt

  • where did you buy those glow-in-dark materials ?? I can't find them anywhere! Sheesh... :X

  • @FPSBass

  • how do you wright with the laser? :P

  • The shape of the laser is similar to a laser pointer that I used to have. It's not from DX though. It was Grey whitish on the battery side and black on the button and diode part.

    Have you ever seen it?

  • lol Thats nuts at 0:46 i just bought a green one from deal extream is it any good?

  • that's cool :)

  • @cwalkkidd How exactly would you draw on a wall with a 5mW laser?

  • Vorkev1 the FBI woldnt come knocking on your door, they have better thing to do and if the government found out they would have just tacken it at customs.

  • @mozartsviolinist Rong i no this for a fact cuz i just hade a friend get busted. he made a order for a bung of green laser pointers and ques who delevered them a guy from the fbi who was undercover as a post master who asked him a bunch of wuestions and wantted to no if he new it was agenst the law. now he hase to go to cort and prove his case.

  • lol at 0:31

  • this is only 5mW so it can be imported legally

  • @styropyro Would a 75 Mw laser be legal to import to australia because i thinks sobecause a long time ado i ordered a 50Mw green laser module to aus and it came.

  • @vorkev1 Holy shit, you type like a retard.

  • @vorkev1 How did you get a degree in Engineering if you can barely communicate coherently? I can't imagine how bad your research papers were.

  • @vorkev1 Laser are not illegal. Nothing you said made any sense. The FBI would have nothing to do with this, as lasers are regulated by the FDA. I have bough 3 200mw laser from China with no issues. They are all FDA compliant with LED power indicators, and a lockout key. I also dont believe for one second that you are an engineer.

  • @vorkev1 You are not an engineer because you type like a god damn 10 year old

  • @vorkev1, You an engineer? I think you are a liar, in fact I KNOW you're a liar, why? Because you can not even spell correctly. So next time before you think about lying about what you are, remember to use spell check. ;)

  • @vorkev1

I highly doubt you are an "enginer" with that grammar...

  • @vorkev1 get an old blue ray drive for computer, liberate the laser diode and drver board... apply 5 volts from 2 aa battery in series..

  • @vorkev1 you're stupid and have a low grammar capability

  • @vorkev1 im very dissapointed that so many of you failed to spot this troll :C

  • @vorkev1 I would not want you engineering anything if you cannot even spell right.

  • @vorkev1 ya lieing fucker lol!

  • @vorkev1

That is the most riveting of fables, my engineer friend

  • @vorkev1 so you're a "enginer" eh? well maybe if you were a ENGINEER they would believe you and I'm pretty sure that a engineer would know how to use a keyboard for a computer...

  • @Jameslikespudding TO BE SMART OR TO HOLD A DEGREE DUS NOT MEEN YOU HAVE TO SPELL WALK TALK OR EVEN SEE. I AMDISLEXIC AND ANT NO GOOD AT SPELLING THIS DUS NOT MEEN I AM DUMB. LOOK AT INSTINE HE NEVER PASSED SCHOOL ANN LOOK AT STEPHEN HAWKING HE IS GRIPPLED AND FOR ALL YOUNO I MAY BE TO THINK BFORE YOU ACT. SOMEOFTHE HIGHEST IQ'S IN THE WORLD ARE HELD BUY PEOPLE WITH DOWNSYNDERUM.

  • @vorkev1 you're "right" im sorry

  • @Jameslikespudding Thank you.

  • @vorkev1 fucking retard you comment is untrue they have blue ray laser pointers in astronomy magazine

  • haha lol fail at 0:32 the red one is a lot brighter.

  • its funny how u opened it seemed like you were so excited

  • thats not blueray

  • the diode inside is a blu ray

  • yea thats a BLU RAY xD, not blueray you're right

  • thats awsome

  • this is blue/violet laser or blue?

  • blue violet not blue ray

  • Did you actually meter the laser? It seems its quite common for them to be labeled 5mW and actually be quite a bit more powerful then that. I have a handful of them on the way but previous buyers are all saying 40-60mW is the rated output for the ones I picked up (even though they state 5mW). Which is great in some ways, bad in others (you have to be so much more careful with a 50mW laser then a 5mW).

  • How much time did it arrive

  • @MultiJohnnyBravo

Read his review in the info

  • thats definitely not 100mw, that one sucks

  • hi :D i' ve bought the blu ray laser pointer 100 mW by dealextreme!!! i' ve some questions:

    1) How can you write with your laser??

    2) can you see a good beam in the night??

    THANKS :D

  • @giupydj

he writes on glow in the dark stuff..

  • is it only blue/violet laser that can write in glow in the dark ??

  • thats crazy

  • I got one of these lasers, but with a green beam. The thing won't even work now. Really shotty quality.

  • dealextreme won't ship lasers where i live WTF

  • @MacsCanfly

they ship 5mW lasers like this one anywhere IIRC

  • i didn't think that was 5mW, anything over 5mW they won't ship on dealextreme but diffrent sites will ship me lasers over 5mW

  • @styropyro even uk ? ,becuase i really dont want to be scammed by ebay or ripped off by uk sellers( $50 for 1mw green, i mean comon)

  • @styropyro Nope, Australia is >1mW

  • @MacsCanfly i cant beleve they ship to canada where i live youshawly thre stricked where i live

  • any pot mods?

  • dude ur vids are cool where do u get the glow thing?

  • @MistMrE

its an old Nickelodeon glow toy from the 90's

  • Ok thanks btw I subscribed :D

  • @styropyro hey mang try pointing it at a crt or older tv set with a tube screen it will also flouress and glow as such,of course the tv should b off!!

  • where ur drawing on?

  • Neat! thanks for posting this up. When I buy this, I'll use your ID link, hahaha (smart posting it up), really, doesn't hurt me and it helps you.

  • Bro i have a cheap keychain laser like ur's,, and a dvd burner laser.. can i mod it ?

  • no, u cant stick a red diode into the keychain laser and keychain ones generally dont have a pot so it wont provide much power. just buy an aixiz module (or the heatsinking module from modwerx) and just solder on a rkcstr module then power it with a 9 volt battery

  • 0:45 Woah, wait, are the batteries shaking around in the laser?

  • @Ninjaz27

It probably is the batteries, almost all pen lasers do this when shaken around pretty hard. It doesn't affect the output though.

  • lol, my "1mW" (its closer to 20mW though) green laser's batteries shake around in it. when they shake the laser turns off sometimes

  • @Ninjaz27

If that problem annoys you then take a small ball of aluminum foil and throw it down the battery tube, that will keep pressure on the batteries and it will stop flickering.

  • So this isn't a fake? This violet is a true >5mW? And if so, would you recommend it to me, someone just entering the field of laser pointers?

  • nej har aldrig köpt något där..

  • can i trust Dealextreame that they senda a 100mw green laser to sweden?

  • yea you can but it takes about a month or more if its on backorder but dont get nervous if it takes a eally long time but call them if its more than 2 weeks after shipping

  • If it has the potential for the pot mod, will the diode lose a lot of life time if you pot mod it?

  • Maybe or maybe not, I haven't tested one of these pot modded but my theory is that this laser diode is capable of much more than 5mW. I could be wrong though.

  • Probably. Since when were 5mW 405nm diodes manufactured? lol

  • its a diode for higher powers just not pushed too far

  • 0:45 the best shit i've ever seen

  • nice ending..!!

  • Where can i get one of those glow in the dark drawing pads?

  • nice

  • Thanks Styro, I've been waiting for a good review. 5*

  • Hey styro nice vid. So its bassically a 5mw violet laser? or something?

  • where do you get the glow in the dark paper styro

  • Right. Now I just have to get one -.-

(to join to my red and green)

Hope you are happy.. now 20 bucks will fly from my pocket again x.x

  • DUDE that was awesome!!!!

but what is a good powerful blu-ray laser?

  • why didnt you compare it to your diy blue laser

  • link is in the description...

  • nice blue ray pointer dude

  • cool vid

  • Nice little pointer!

  • tard
