  • inda scene pfft.

  • I find christian music so gimmicky and dorky. There is much more elegant spiritual music just out in the mainstream. It's more subtle and doesn't push the "believe in jesus' agenda and instead focuses on individual need. When I say mainstream, I don't mean MTV. MTV really is the devil and its music for money really.

  • @LOLDISNEYLAND virtually all contemporary music, Christian or secular is gimmicky and dorky and complete shit. There are maybe 10 or so bands these days making anything original.

  • @bloomingdedalus Everyone who ever lived thinks that music was better when they were young. It's not based in any fact, it can all be explained by nostalgia goggles.

Christian music is usually bad because companies know that people will buy Christian music solely because it's about Christianity and any extra effort put into production or originality is pretty much a waste of time.

  • @sestsa Ummmm.... I'm 26. When I was listening to Christian Music I was 13. I think it was shit. I think the vast majority of good music came before I was born. That's not nostalgia goggles, that's just appreciation of talent.

  • @bloomingdedalus But is it really? How do you know it's not just because all the shit songs from those eras have been mostly forgotten and the only ones left are the good ones. Whereas nowadays you have to deal with the good and the shit together as they come out and, as ever, there is more shit than good. In twenty years, some guy will be talking about how music was better now. There are far more than 10 good bands, you just have to look harder.

  • @sestsa Fair enough point. I sure can't find much in the way of talent when I hear most of what is produced and consumed. At least back then, the good stuff was also the popular stuff.

The Mars Volta is a very talented band, you should check them out. They're contemporary.

  • Sunday Night Safran is awesome.

Their booth looks awesome. nothing like i pictured. It all light and modern. I expected something like the booth in Fraiser the TV show.

  • so cool to see them all in the studio.
