I just made one of these

1.) led color changing light strip with remote $40 (amazon)

2.) reflective mirror tint $20 (homedepot in the window section)

3.) shadow box 22x28 $50 (hobby lobby)

4.) I made the inner frame myself from duct tape and styrofoam.

5.) mirror from glass and mirror store $23

this was a fairly large mirror so the cost was a bit expensive you could make a smaller one for much cheaper. Just wanted to give people an idea of where and how much i bought supplies for.

Nobody SELLS silver tint! All other tints absorb light & don't reflect it. I got "smoke" tint. The reflective persistance was worse than when I used the untreated plexiglass. Where can I buy SILVER window tint locally in T-Town?

Hmm question, i am building a similar project for uni, i just got some free window film off-cuts from a glass shop, but the film looks transparent from both sides in a normal room, when i put it against say a window one side becomes like a mirror while the other you can see through, was this the same with material you got? or does it permanently look one side mirror one side clear in a normal room?

all the things you need for it you can get off eBay, just type in the keywords of what your looking for: e.g. perspex sheet, window tint and so on... although once you've bought all the necessary stuff, you end up getting close to the price that they sell the mirrors commercially, so unless you know a cheap DIY store that sells the materials cheap, I wouldn't bother making one (over buying one) unless you want to do it for the fun + plus pride + personal design :D. Which is fair enough :)

@soakum Most car stores might have some. I have some street racing going on by my house and they got me some for free though. I used it for my silver car, because blue neon and silver go together good, and the rest for the mirror. I recommend it, but if you tint a car's window you can't tint it completely by law, or so in Michigan.
