this is so fundamentally important to providing an idea that dogs have an idea of self, and that they can understand what triggers a motive in a human. just excellent!
No canine is capable of self-recognition (in fact, there are only a handful of animals that are capable of such a feat) and no animal on Earth bar humans understands what a motive is. The dog has simply been trained to expect to receive food when it performs an action. It has no awareness of what the action is or why it receives food.
P.S.: next time you want to try and leave a comment regarding something as profound as self-awareness in animals, use proper English.
Thought you had the best idea for your Jacks!! I taught Skip:) You can check him out if you want. Now people in our neighborhood are trying it with their dogs. You started a new craze:):)
black jack is Patchy Princess. She is sooooo spoiled. Sleeps under my arm every night, doesn't listen when I tell her to go outside and licks the good stuff off her kibble. Spoiled!
They are both UKC and AKC registered Russell Terriers. That's the short Jack Russells. Meatball is just 10 1/2 inches at the shoulder and Patchy the white and black one is 10 inches. Much calmer than the Parsons or so I hear. I taught this with clicker training. Took me almost an hour.
Such an adorable dog! Recently a little jack russell protected the life of his friend, a little boy, who was going to be attacked by 2 rothweilers - he sadly was killed by them. That really shows how these little dogs are not only cute but extremely brave. Your doggies are just really beautiful and clever!! Luv, Natazha xxxxx 5* for them
A well trained human !

You're so mean to the other dog. Give him a treat for crying out loud. Who cares if he doesn't know how to do a pointless and mindless trick.

Well, our Ody was adopted from my brother whose now ex wife didnt like him. He is quite trainable though. I think I may try.
LilCav68 4 years ago
I bet your Ody will get it super quick. JRTs are sooo smart. I was just trying to say that clicker training makes it so much easier.
