I challenge all the creative amateur and professional photographers, illustrators and media producers in this countryt o create clearly labeled depictions of the worst abuses, as verbally described. Flooding the internet and other media with creative depictions of the abuses would take the ball away, while softening the shock of the actual photos, certain to follow shortly. First Amendment slam-dunk.

These photos more than likely do not document the abuse of high-profile terrorist detainees. They are simply the record of ordinary Iraqi and Afghan combatants, of which the CIA admits that more than 100 were beaten to death. But the White House sanctioned these practices, and justice needs to proceed against those who ordered these crimes -- all in the name of getting detainees to admit that Saddam had a nuclear program, WMDs, etc. ,as justification for our intervention.
We've all seen those photos of naked human pyramids from Abu Gahrib, and the release of these pictures will reveal nothing new, except the fact that these practices were far more widespread, and not limited to, as the President says, "a few bad apples" (paraphrase). Someone at the top ordered this abuse, and it wasn't the military.
The problems I see here about releasing the photos are twofold: One, that our troops which are still engaged in those countries may be harmed if the enemy uses them as a recruiting tool; and two, they may be connected by many people in the Arab world as being current with the Obama administration, and not the Bush regime.

These photos more than likely do not document the abuse of high-profile terrorist detainees. They are simply the record of ordinary Iraqi and Afghan combatants, of which the CIA admits that more than 100 were beaten to death. But the White House sanctioned these practices, and justice needs to proceed against those who ordered these crimes -- all in the name of getting detainees to admit that Saddam had a nuclear program, WMDs, etc. ,as justification for our intervention.

The problems I see here about releasing the photos are twofold: One, that our troops which are still engaged in those countries may be harmed if the enemy uses them as a recruiting tool; and two, they may be connected by many people in the Arab world as being current with the Obama administration, and not the Bush regime.

The answer to that is extremely straightforward, although actually organizing it isn't. Education, public safety and prosperity. Basically the same things that made us in Europe come out of our own dark ages.
Trying to keep them down, bombing them 10 years into the past, those things have the direct opposite effect, as has been shown time and again in history.

I don't care about the photos are released. We ALREADY KNOW what happened, and since the only thing gained will be a knowlegde of what soilders did what... Yeah I relize they did wrong but you thing the American people will forgive them once they see their faces and associate what they did to actautal images...there will be blood. If the the government let's us know all the details sans the actautl images i think that should be good enugh.
