I agree! You're pretty much paying 3000 dollars just for the name itself! Plus in my opinion its not a well-rounded os. To me it seems more media oriented. Unlike Linux very useful and has very good media capabilities.

I would rather have freedom to choose.
No I would say Ubuntu look better than Mac osx Leopard... I would use it over Mac OS any time... and I yes I have Mac osx Leopard and Snow Leopard on my Hackintosh PC ... haahaa
To change the menu bar icon replace /home/yourusername/.icons/youricontheme/scalable/start-here.png with an apple logo icon from wherever you want with the same name (just rename it). Restart your computer and that should be it.

Download ubuntu tweak and have the best of both worlds.
What I hate about osx is the dock that takes wastes half the screen!
