  • My cup of tea!

  • I am speechless

  • I've got exactly the same teaspoon :-)

  • the sound of the guitar and some of the slower punctuated riffs remind me of Robin Trower.

  • Superb real life feeling

  • The vocals are by Doug Henthorn who fronts a band called 'Healing Sixes' out of Indianapolis. Outstanding! H6s also have some vids on YouTube...search 'em

  • Is Joe doing the vocals ? If so Killer job !

  • please people joes not trying to capture the original mood .what would be the point ? i fucking hate it when pepole do covers and try to do a copy .if i want to listen to page to tea for one i will go and listen to that . Jesust

  • @MUDSHARK111

Agreed, this rendition is technically brilliant as a cover but comes nowhere close to the original.

Mr Bonamassa simply is not Mr Page and hence shall never match up to the original masterpiece

    .

  • Joe does the Mighty Zep some justice here! Good job!

  • lovely to hear Bonham Jr on this track. Who knows maybe it would have had strings on the original but for the fact that JPJ and Bonham pretty much didnt get a look in on the Presence sessions. Even poor old JPJ missed out on a writing credit on Achilles even given the monster bass line he wrote for it

  • superbe Joe Bonamassa

  • Joe is the MAN, he does a Awesome job on this Led Zeppelin Classic.

Joe is one of the GREATEST!!!! Props to Joe... ;)

Joe and Led Zeppelin are my Favorite Bands..

Keep Rocking Joe, LOVE your New CD

  • Excellence!

  • Too heavy on the strings for this classic but he is good Joe.

  • BB / GUY / BECK / CLAPTON / JOE B.........ETC.

  • OK.. when they say tea for one.. they don't neccessarily mean tea, as a beverage... the other term for 'tea', used in England and Australia means 'dinner'

  • lads get a grip ,joe is awsome playing this track!!!

  • Excellent cover song, there is nothing better than the original!!, but Joe is on fire though. Talking about cover versions,

The late great Stevie Ray Vaughan "covering" Hendrix's Voodoo Chile, and a similar situation, from

Frank Marino Real Live also 2 killer

cover songs "Red House" & also "Voodoo

Chile" at least one great thing you can enjoy both!!!

  • he does a good cover, think page would be impressed,,, shaunb

  • love this version and the original..

  • I love this-he did a splendid job on this tune. Go Joe!!!

  • I believe Jason Bonham is playing drums on this track...That Joe B had the balls to try this song is one thing, but to pull it off and make it sound so good is a testament to his soul and playing ability! It's actually one of the few songs he has recorded that he didn't do his own lead vocals.

  • c'mon i found myself air guitaring while i was doing in the solo you feel the emotion!!!

  • Fucking YES

This version of the song is the fucking shit. Zeppelin is by far my favorite band, but shit this is a good cover. only once in a great while do you hear a cover that's at least as good as the original

  • Thanks for the backup quizzledorf, this is one magical recording.

  • When I first heard this I was so blown away. Truely to me this song is the best "rock" recording of the past oh 5 years. What spiritual soulful leadwork and the vocalist is awesome as well. Yeah I've got to say this the only recording by anyone that surpasses the mightly Zeppelin's own version.

  • i don't think that is a very good description.

    nothing surpasses zeppelin's epicness.

they created rock that kept the modesty of blues at the same time.

    you can't re-create that.

  • This is nice, and Joe's playing is virtuosic... but Led Zeppelin had a vibe with "Tea For One." It's lonely, just as serving tea for only one is. Jimmy Page's solo, with all that reverb, sounds like it was done standing in a big room, all by himself. Again, this is nice, but, with the strings, it sounds too ... busy.. to really recapture the original "Tea for One."

  • I was gonna say something but when I've seen your comment, I realized I don't need to!

You're totally right! You nailed it perfectly!

He couldn't get the feeling of loneliness, which is so present in Jimmy's - the best ever! - solo.

It sounds like tea for all, not for one!

Beside that Joe is an amazing guitar player, and have a respect for him to even try:) It's probably the best try:)

  • I understand what you're saying, but respectfully disagree. I think the strings add to the song, but that's just my opinion. Great song either way.

  • @claptonhendrix1: I soooo agree. There's a depth of emotion, and suffering, here, the mix of Smokin' Joe and the vocalist's talents, that goes real deep.. and I think actually BETTER reflects the agony intended in Tea for One.. I LOVE this version.. it gets me on my knees.

  • I agree with you, but it seems that Page and Plant do not. They've played it with a strings combo on the reunion gigs, like that one in Tokyo we see here at YouTube.

  • Joe Bonamassa's version of the song rocks
