Some are contested shots, and are incredibly difficult to get in. Others are wide open and go in like butter. The point is that sometimes the most important aspects of the game can't be measured in stats. I think we can both agree on that. And to be fair, they don't really tally charges for plaers. It isn't a statistic you can exactly look up for a player that isn't playing now or isn't in the NBA currently/

It should be blatantly obvious to anyone why you can't count countesting a shot a statistic... if you really thought that was the point, then you should read over what I said and make sure that you didn't miss anything. My point was that the actions that take place during a game which aren't counted as a statistic are often times the ones that go unnoticed.

A year before KG was injury prone and still made the All Star, a debacle to the true testament of other players and their achievements.

Kevin Garnett is one of the greatest players of all time. For the vast majority of his career he was an unstoppable dynamo in all facets of the game. Too quick to be guarded by any big men and too tough and long for smaller men to guard. He could guard any position, rebound better than anyone in the league, and also probably the best help defender. He simply helped a team win more than anyone did in his glory days (03-07), and that's reflected in his adjusted plus minus being by far the best.

Those three didn't sacrifice their stats because their roles were complimentary. Jordan was the lights-out scorer and Pippen was the guy who could hurt you could make you pay if you gave MJ too much attention. Rodman was there for his boards and his D. (In his 3 years in CHI, he averaged 5.2 points a game. Do you think Rodman was taking points away from either of those guys?)

Stop rewarding a guy who plays within a defensive system. His individual statistics don't mirror that. And for the record of KG with more rebounds, Amare has 8.7 and KG has 9.0. Show me the vast discrepancy between those two stats. Not even close with points. Rose over Rondo, #1 option on that team. Check the stat

During the injury, while Rondo missed games Rose started playing good and his votes passed Rondo after 2 weeks. If Rose was the #1 option, why was Rondo even beating him in votes in the first place? Some are contested shots, and are incredibly difficult to get in. Others are wide open and go in like butter. The point is that sometimes the most important aspects of the game can't be measured in stats. I think we can both agree on that. And to be fair, they don't really tally charges for plaers. It isn't a statistic you can exactly look up for a player that isn't playing now or isn't in the NBA currently/

It should be blatantly obvious to anyone why you can't count countesting a shot a statistic... if you really thought that was the point, then you should read over what I said and make sure that you didn't miss anything. My point was that the actions that take place during a game which aren't counted as a statistic are often times the ones that go unnoticed.

Hmm, let's see. Amare is averaging 9.0 rpg and KG is averagin 9.5 rpg. Yes, that .5 makes a huge difference. Go check the stats and see who trumps who. Minutes for minutes. A year before KG was injury prone and still made the All Star, a debacle to the true testament of other players and their achievements.

Kevin Garnett is one of the greatest players of all time. For the vast majority of his career he was an unstoppable dynamo in all facets of the game. Too quick to be guarded by any big men and too tough and long for smaller men to guard. He could guard any position, rebound better than anyone in the league, and also probably the best help defender. He simply helped a team win more than anyone did in his glory days (03-07), and that's reflected in his adjusted plus minus being by far the best.

Gary is right. KG is my favorite player and one of my two favorite athletes, but Bosh should've started. GP and CWebb have a combined 14 all-star appearances, they know what an all-star is, Kenny and EJ, a combined 0. All-stars put up the numbers every night regardless. KG doesn't have to with Boston, so that's fine, but he was still in MVP talks. @Spurs2k6, Gary said he was outplaying Stockton at the time, which is believable since he was the only one who could seem to slow Jordan down.

i agree with you..... i honestly hate KG just because he's a celtic and a lil bitch.. but he is a one bad ass player... his numbers are down because he has to share the ball with Allen and Pierce... but KG is no question the emotional leader on the celtics and he does more than what his stats say

Bosh is wayyyyy better then garnett...he has dominated every single game this season. it doesnt matter if they win or not its not like the entire fuckin team plays in the all star game its about one players affect on the game..garnett is averaging 15 points and 7 rebs so far and hes almost doubling bosh in all star votes.. what the fuck is wrong with ppl how can you start him over bosh when even carl landry is averaging better stats then him

Bro, they don't appreciate Bosh as much because he's on the Raptors. The general NBA population really doesn't care about the Canadian team or anybody on it. I totally agree with you that Bosh is better than Garnett but that's because I'm Canadian and prefer to watch Bosh than Garnett. As much as I wish Bosh would start it's basically a contest between (most of) the Canadians who vote for Bosh as a opposed to the US voting for Garnett.

@tkcwu they did not have rondo. celtics had 4 superstars not three and mj and pips numbers were off the hook but rodmans scoring numbers were same as garnetts if not worse+ garnett won fucking defensive player of the year that year and he won a championship. I think it was the right call for him to start in the all star game.

Those three didn't sacrifice their stats because their roles were complimentary. Jordan was the lights-out scorer and Pippen was the guy who could hurt you could make you pay if you gave MJ too much attention. Rodman was there for his boards and his D. (In his 3 years in CHI, he averaged 5.2 points a game. Do you think Rodman was taking points away from either of those guys?)
Allen, KG and Pierce (and Rondo to a lesser extent) need to score to be effective. Completely ifferent situation.

I've been watchin the nba, i don't know what the fuck you've been watching, were starting off slow because kg has just come back you can't expect him to be the same only after 13 games and we have been playin pretty shitty the past few games but were still 9-4.
