As for the personal ad, one can never meet everyone on this world, so every way of communicating with others - and therefor opening more opportunities of dating - is positive in my eyes. It's only a bad thing if it's a whorey kind of ad, just meant to pick up sex, not a greater good :)
One day somebody will believe me in not finding a chili. One day.
