Best show I was ever in, and third best I ever saw. I remember the first time I saw Fresno State perform --- I was a freshman in high school and the show was Carmina Burana.

I had to cover my ears. I had never heard anything so loud before that moment.

I've seen or performed in every Fresno State show since. That is, the real shows --- not the silly "Jai Ho" kind of crappy medley shows.

Oh jeez, I remember this. I was on the cymbal line. 8 bass line is nice....but 13 person cymbal line. HS kids gawked mad crazy...it was nice though

yes they do, and they are pretty brutal, but sound awesome.

listen to the pit perc. they usually mimmic the high winds (flutes, clarinets) the mellophones mimmic the saxes

actually in gary's shows, the saxes mimic the mellos.

well it was kind of vice versa, when you rhink about it...

that doesn't really make much sense. what i meant was that gary does use the saxes just to enhance the mellos since there are usually about 20 in each section and the mellos are about twice to three times as loud.

by that i mean that neither really enhance the other, they both just play the same thing...in our band theres 3 altos, and 2 mellophones. so in our band it doesnt really matter.
