The first corporations were products of the Federal government subsidizing transportation contractors, like rail road companies. Free markets do not allow corporatism because of the power they have in organically dispersing wealth. If not for the Federal Reserve loaning basically free money to Corporate Bank/Insurance companies at .07% interest (aka corporate welfare) and tax payer bail outs, these companies are too large to exist in a market that could make them obsolete overnight. You all should take a step back and look at the claims made by this ignorant video. I work for Koch and they are not evil at all, in fact they are the opposite. I pose a question for the maker of this video where does your paycheck come from, poor people? Koch is a highly regulated company with compliance to Health Safety and Environmental second in their core beliefs. They also pay workers more and stay in business when everyone else is laying off due to pork belly unions. Research and judge...
Your defining what makes a 3rd world country.... The top percent take it all... IT"S NEVER ENOUGH for them!! More more more more more more... I've traveled around the world and human history speaks for itself... GREED.. Do not sit up in here and tell me WHO hands out your paycheck.... NO thank you I'm not a slave .. Wealth Care Reform is a great way to market it. What we really need is a new constitutional ammendment that guarantees the Separation of Wealth and State.
@StateExempt Blame that on the Bush Administration for failure to keep our infrastructure in good condition. Can't do much if the thing that's supposed to keep the area from drowning fails. FEMA would have been in much better condition if the levees actually did their job.
i hope someday the koch brothers are driving their limo around the high cliffs of south california repeating the phrase "Kock brothers rule" over and over again... when suddenly they run over a banana peel and swerve off the cliff and die like the O'doyles did in Billy Madison. but seriously i am NOT A SERF. i prefer to be a called an Indentured Servant. ppl are so stupid today they prob think thats something good. save the 2 class system in America!
All good points but you left out the big one. THE KOCH BROTHERS STARTED THE AFP AND THE TEA PARTY!!! the Tea party has been going on and on about being grass roots yet the second largest private company in the US was their seed money and concept base. Kind of important info.
I wish she was beautiful as she was smart. The United States is as powerful s it is today because of a deregulated free market economy, and she suddenly wants a socialized communist government... just like Europe was after world war II, remember how well socialism went back then? o yeah....
HA HA HA, This is great!!! No SHIT, staight shootin', crystal clear, tell it like it is information from someone...and she's beautiful too boot! GREAT JOB!!! Keep it up. ;)
I have a dream, the citizens will one day be allowed to visit the Koch brothers in their prison cell and administer to each of them a swift kick in the nuts.
"'Wealth does not create jobs. Jobs create wealth.' not entirely accurate."
No, that is COMPLETELY accurate. The true "producers" are the workers. Shuffling papers and sitting in an air conditioned office in a suit deciding who gets hired and who gets fired is nice and all . . . but it doesn't build 1 car or provide 1 client with security, it doesn't pave 1 road or teach a single child. And if someone doesn't produce those goods and services, companies do not accrue wealth.
@vcdaniels It certainly is true. If a robot was created to perform every human labor task, there would be no reason to employ anybody. It is the Labor of the robot, or machine, that would produce wealth. When people can be viewed as property, bio-machines for generating labor power, then the function of government becomes one of protecting property, not rights or people themselves.
@vcdaniels Mine do... in this scenario. It's the moral dilemma behind Heinlien's I, Robot and also behind the Matrix series (Animatrix) The point is that corporations aren't in the business of employing people, but of making profit. Labor is a cost, and the lesser the cost the better for them. This is why we have slave nations like Indonesia etc....
"The point is that corporations aren't in the business of employing people, but of making profit. Labor is a cost, and the lesser the cost the better for them."
Well in that case, the cheapest form of labor is DIY. DIY labor is even cheaper than slave labor. Unlike slaves you don't have to feed yourself - unless you want to. You don't have to worry about rebellions. And all profit accrued is 100% yours. However, the trade-off is YOU have to get off of YOUR ASS and DO THE LABOR.
@vcdaniels Entitlement to what? To live? This idea of "entitlement". Try replacing it with "EQUTIY"... equity in the sovereignty of your nation. Is a retarded person "lazy"? Is a 70-yr old ex coal miner, having worked since he was 16, "lazy"? Were the chinese who build the Union-Pacific railway "lazy", or the slaves of the South, or the millions unemployed today "lazy"? Entitled? Are they freer in Indonesia than int he US because they will work for so much less? Hmmm...
Is a 70-yr old ex coal miner, having worked since he was 16, a CEO?
"Are they freer in Indonesia than int he US because they will work for so much less? Hmmm... " That is my point. Indonesia, Hong Kong as well as many countries in the southern cone embraced free market, supply-side, Chicago Boy economics . . . and they are no more free for it.
@vcdaniels Ah yes... and the resources to make this labor worth anything? Land, energy? All you're saying is that DIY means the wealth goes to you personally. You're making her point.
My point is, you hear CEO's cry and whine about "labor's too expensive". Yet they know that doing the labor needed to provide their goods or services THEMSELVES would save them so much more money. So why don't they do it? Is it because they know that they can't sit in an air conditioned office if they're mining coal? Is it that they know they can't fly on private jets if they're busy assembling cars? Or that you can't eat in a 5-star restaurant while you're working a lathe?
Just as, for some reason, CEO's whine about America's corporate tax rate. Yet they don't just pull up stakes and go to Somalia or China. Is it because they know that, if they were to do that, they could no longer hide under Mama USA's skirt anymore? Is it because they know that, for all their bitching and moaning about Obama's "socialist" policies, they wouldn't be better off under Sharif Sheikh Ahmed or Hu Jintao?
@vcdaniels Even though due to write-offs and loopholes, few of them actually pay it. In fact, Many Corporations get, get this, they get refunds of millions of dollars. Another good reason not to leave.
Exactly! Corporations know how wonderful they have it here. They're just spoiled teenagers who want more despite all that they already have. Always whining about how their folks/gov't are trying to "run their lives" and always threatening to "run away". What they need is for gov't to (like a good parent) finally call their bluff. Tell these petulant corporations "FINE! Get the eff out! Go live in China where they don't beg you to pay your damn taxes, they TAKE them".
Well, in my scenario, gummi bears made of fishlegs make love to vampires with monkeys on their knees after dancing with the devil in the pale moonlight. That doesn't mean it's real. Robots - in real life - do not build themselves. A human being - rather a team of them in union - had to put forth LABOR in order to research, develop, assemble and program the robot. If you recall, in the Animatrix, the first machines - AND their AI's - were the products of man's LABOR.
@vcdaniels Yes, products of labor... but not owned by the people who assembled them. Workers get the right to live another month in exchange for their labor. The owner gets the robot. Much like some jews are allowed to live to help dispose of all the dead jews in the camp.... well, that's over the top, but to the point.
Who owns the property is rather moot when no labor has been exercised to create that property is it not? The fact that I own a laptop does me no good if a worker never put forth the LABOR to ASSEMBLE THE LAPTOP. Ownership is MEANINGLESS when there is nothing to OWN. And the only way anything to own is PRODUCED is when LABOR is applied to CREATE it.
@vcdaniels Yes, regarding land as "property", I personally favor the view that land and resources should support the finance of government (rather than taxes on labor) via severance taxes etc over privileges to use of the Commons. Perhaps it's sophistry though. As a practical matter, the fucking corporations should be paying their fair share. Consider William Jennings Bryan and the American struggle against central banking and the gold standard idiots. Progressives should be in front here.
If rich people created jobs, then - in the richest country on Earth, with more rich people in the population than in any other country (people like Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey, the Koch Bros., every athlete and entertainer in the media), our unemployment rate should be 0%. Yet in reality, we got a LOOOT of rich people and, strangely enough, few jobs to go around and a national unemployment rate of 9%. You said it yourself: Corporations don't produce jobs, they accrue profit.
I live in Canada, my dad had a heart attack last week. Within minutes at the hospital they were monitoring him with what he dedcribes as unbelievably compasionate doctors, surgeans and nurses, they tranfered him to another hospital to get rid of gall stones that where infected, he`s stablizing and as soon as tomorrow he`s of to heart surgery.
He told me he couldn`t get over how well he was treated and how lucky we were to live in Canada. Not one time money was mentiond or insurance.
@dhebert111 Thanks for that story. And that's good news about your dad. Yes, if he lived in the US, his chances of recovery would depend on his insurance setup. Bizarre isn't it?
"Wealth does not create jobs. Jobs create wealth." not entirely accurate. Producers create wealth, that includes the laborers who have jobs. Unfortunately, she doesn't get it. Authentic deregulation is needed. Occupational licensing, the FDA, intellectual property (patents), agricultural subsidies and more need abolition, and only then can genuine healthcare emerge. Until then hospitals, insurers, drug companies will continue to rip us all off.
@TheWingflyer I assume you dont have an argument since you didnt present one. It's not as complex as you think. People are being given the wrong incentives. Look at corn and tobacco subsidies. That's the government paying special groups to farm products that ultimately are abused and cause disease. Look at their demonization of prohibition of domestic hemp production. Look at the FDA-monsanto revolving door, Do you have a solution? Do you think it is to force everyone to buy insurance?
@networkedfreedom Patent reform would be the most obvious way to reduce healthcare costs. Surprisingly, you're the first person I've heard suggest this.
@garith21 That was a direct quote from her, not out of context, and I did watch the whole thing. However, if someone says something so stupid, why shouldn't I just ignore them?
a. production creates wealth, the people who own the means to production and pay people to produce it, own what is produced. The workers don't have to work for them.
b. healthcare is expensive BECAUSE of governmental regulations. the AMA has a monopoly on the issuance of medical licenses. They use it to limit the number of doctors in order to make sure everyone gets paid more. Then because it costs so much, people get insurance with messes the market until the government pays for everything.
hahaha, lol... it's funny when people try to spoon-feed propaganda words like "progressive" and "regressive", and it's even funnier when the rest of you mindless lemming slop them right the fuck up without question.
I was about to ask for your hand in marriage after watching you tear the right wing a new one, but I can't see how I could ever compete with the eloquence, grace and tact of prince charmings like Kyle1850, and robjla1. Thanks guys, with silver tongues like yours, what hope is there for the rest of us?
@Politicalboxers Do you know what other country has a great upper class than middle class? Saudi Arabia. A horrible third world country. Is that what you want for America? To revert back into a third world country?
@robertgaudlitz I think you're using the wrong tense. Rephrase as 'when will the US be a third world country' and I'm with you. I think. (Search on RaNz3qS5WAo to see where I'm coming from).
@pendantry no, i am talking about the past, because you said "revert". when the US were founded, the "colonies" were as much first world as the great britainn of that time. and from that point on, it only got better. so they never were a third world country in the first place.
@robertgaudlitz Ah, we're talking past each other. I didn't say 'revert' - perhaps you're thinking of the other guy. YouTube comments are not conducive to conversations. Again, I suggest: (Search on RaNz3qS5WAo to see where I'm coming from).
@pendantry ooh, you can chop into the line of comments, that`s interesting :D thanks for remembering me there, friend :) you were right, i thought you were the other guy. can i get back to you tomorrow, i am working on early 15th century etchings right now. boring, yes, but i actually have to do this if i want to graduate.
A deregulated economy is one where CONSUMERS choose who they buy from. Consumers choose who makes a profit, and who doesn't. Consumers choose which products/services survive, and which DISAPPEAR. A REGULATED ECONOMY IS ONE where THE REGULATORS DECIDE. Democrats want to be the regulators, so they can decide where all the wealth of nation goes... TO THEIR OWN PERSONAL INTERESTS. They want to tax everyone, spend it, regulate it. if you oppose them you are a greedy selfish racist. What a RACKET!
The Koch brothers orchestrated a campaign to sweep the entire nations state houses over to republicans, and switched 70 seats in DC from Democrat to Republican? The biggest party swing in 70 years? The Koch Brothers did that? Who told you that? Was it the same people that campaigned on ending the wars? closing guantanemo? ending bush tax cuts? the ones who said Tea Party was really about anti incumbents right up to 2010 election? Yeah. It was the Koch Bros. Democrats are so gullible and stupid.
You can tell a lot about a person who doesn't write or spell on an average level. Especially if you're trying to make an intelligent debate. You look foolish and ignorant. I know I may seem like a grammar nazi but this is too much. People need to learn how to write better.
The amount of money the rich spend on things to stay rich is mind boggling. The simple truth is that everyone has a price. When you get into office with all the intent to look out for all the little guys in our country, how much would it cost the Koch brothers to bribe you into doing something that benefited them instead??? Whatever the amount, "they" are willing to pay it..
Many Americans stay focused on the avarice and military dominance of their own society without worrying about the spiritualist centralist that pushes the American buttons.
the reason people vote it gop is that they the government should not get involved in free market system and every time they do they make things worst. It simple fact that government can afford health care the way it is now. The quality of health fall or a lot and rationing result. People with best social skills will get the best health care. It is economics 101. Or the government can go so deep into debt that it fail apart and many people will go broke.
@spark300c Actually, it is more complex than just "no hand" or "two hand". It depend of the markets conditions. Health care is a rare market where non-profit organization create more wealth for the society than equivalent "for profit'. Therefore, it became better when you have Medicare for all or something similar. Why? 3 reasons: 1. How many hospital by coffee shop? 2. How many religious or non-rational believe there is toward health-care? 3. Do you have time to read a manual in emergency?
@therrydicule non profit is still not part of the government. When government involved in not called nonprofit it called socialism. How ever if non profit created more wealth then there be more non-profit hospitals. Anyway the government has solve not the cost problem with out limiting care.
@spark300c Does Adam Smith was a socialist? And does "socialism" is really... Bad?
Also, no their will be not be more non-profit hospital: if you stand from the point of view of the hospital they are making way more money at a personal level by being for profit because they are a monopoly with uninformed client that are not really rational. The problems with that are negatives externalities.
Plus, prisoner and the military have gov't health-care ; it's also an equal protection clause cases...
Convenient scape goating~! ...still doesn't rise to the logic of guilt by association the left wants to equate wealthy success with documented criminally obtained wealth, thereby negating everyone's ability to amass wealth to fuel grand visions of whatever kind. It takes money to make money, and to fulfill certain dreams, including humanitarian. Let's just throw that all away and be good slaves~!
so wait. the egg doesent create the chicken? the chicken creates the egg? ffs liberalism is like a mental disorder. like the koch brothers are the glorious leaders of the tea party. this bitch needs a dick in mouth treatment.
@LibertyDownUnder She has it 100% right and you have it 100% wrong. This American has got it right. You on the other hand advocate policy that would bring Australia towards a serf/master relationship. Right now unemployment is at 4.9% and with all our welfare. Medicare is the most popular policy in Australia. I pity cult members like you who's world is pixy land devoid of reality who wish to impose a quasi crazy ideology written for the most part by a drug addicted bitch, fucking libturds
@LibertyDownUnder what a load of bullshit and crap/ medicare is the most supported government policy in Australia and blaming the disabled for not having the ability to work is fear mongering. And talk of a corporatist system, you would impose it 100% on the community. Typical libertarian spin. the Koch bother the two biggest sponsors of libertarian think tanks are the corporatist system. And you are their puppet
@LibertyDownUnder First of all only 757K are on disability. John Howard made it harder to get the pension but numbers have still increased. The average person is on it for 12 years and either dies (funny the reason they get it is they are too sick to work) or goes over to the old aged pension. So it has little to do with the "ability to work". As the doctors forms, the medical examinations and eligibility criteria are very strict. So yes I do think nearly all people on it deserve it.
@LibertyDownUnder And it is not a golden goose, the payments are less than $700 per fortnight when rent assistance is included. So if you live in a city where rentals are over 340 per week you better pray you have someone else to help. It is not an easy life. It is like the old aged pension. Compared to Western Europe it is one of the lowest payment rates whilst being one of the hardest to get. People do not like getting sick and don't lie about the fact they are. Your comments are disgusting
@LibertyDownUnder That is nothing but a bullshit lie appealing to the lowest common denominator, fear. In actuality over 90% of Australian get welfare from the government in some form or another. From business grants to the baby bonus, child payments and grants to help with the purchase of a house, public education etc etc. You don't like it because you think you are being screwed by the "man'. Your the fake sob story. Sulking because you have to pay your taxes, grow up
@LibertyDownUnder Our government is so generous it pays some of the cost of private schools so rich kids don't have to pay the full fees. And I really consider them bludgers as the people attending those schools can well afford to pay. You are a cry baby, blaming everyone else. If you don't like Australia move to a libertarian country, perhaps the freedumb loving nation of Somalia is more to your liking. You're nothing but a right wing bigot with a chip on his shoulder
@LibertyDownUnder yes but that is not the case but it is not the truth of the matter with "elite' schools who pocket millions in government subsidies. In federal and state grants the five top fee paying schools in Australia received some 12 million dollars. All of those schools recorded profits in excess of 3 million each. Gellong Grammar for example making 10 million. Secondly public schools are available for all people. You choose to send your child to a private school. TBC
@LibertyDownUnder Further to that with the combination of private funding and government funding the average private student gets $4000 more than a public student does. A private school on average gets $15,000 per student. Where as in a Public school the funding is about $11,000 per student. your comments paint a clouded picture as to the state of education funding in Australia. As per usual you fight to protect the graft of the mega wealthy. After all you are a libturd libertarian
@LibertyDownUnder according to the last USA federal election less than 0.4% of US Citizens who bothered to vote, voted libertarian LMFAO. If we mention Australia I think Pizzie the Poodle got more votes in Vaucluse than the libertarian who ran for the local council. Purrfuct libturdy
@LibertyDownUnder It is the point dickhead, it's like saying 40% of people support free viagra making the tasset claim that therefore all people would support free viagra. And funny enough it is only one poll, guess which way the majority of polls point. The continual downward spiral. The latest Gallop has them at 33%. Do you really think that Michelle Bachman is a popular figure in the USA? The tea party is the joke of the US an embarrassment funded & founded by the Koch brothers
@LibertyDownUnder you really don't see when a person puts Obama in a African tribal outfit as being racist. You also don't see how the Koch brothers investment of about 30 million dollars had any impact on the "tea party" as they created the monster. Secondly, people funny enough did not see this before Obama took office, and I doubt if you asked the average tea party member should the government in the USA get rid of medicare would agree. The tea party are dead and they hurt the GOP LMFAO
@LibertyDownUnder "I think you understand this now" no I do not and secondly I find you're comments stupid, niaeve and without foundation in much fact. You use selective data rather than looking at the all data and manipulate the "evidence" to support your position rather than having your opinion influenced by the evidence. Weather or not people hold a certain view does not make that view right or correct.Funny enough when you ask tea party members if they support it's policy platform many don't
for all the but hurt right wingers talking about george soros because their pavlov fox dog whistling is ordering them to do so. ( i.e. the cock birther brothers and fox) 7 of the top 10, and the top five political money machines for politicians are conservatives like the cock brothers. they out spent dems 8 : 1 in the last election and will try to do at least that again.
make the cock brothers waste billions by voting out the republiklans.
It's when ppl like these dick-tate everything, that everything goes to hell.. if they could just leave for mars or sumtin (hell?) ordinary ppl would get along just fine.
I disagree with so many things that you have said in this video, and I am sure that if we talked politics, you would probably disagree with me... I am assuming you have some ideas about how you would like to solve social problems such as poverty, extremely expensive healthcare, etc... what I want to know is, if I disagree with your plan and do not participate, would you advocate that I be forced at gunpoint to pay, kidnapped if I refused, and shot if I resisted the kidnapping?
@AlwaysKeepThinking If I've learned anything from these sort of people they either won't acknowledge your argument, throw some combination of ad hominems and red herrings or just equate all state action with society. In essence don't hold your breath for a response.
If I ever get another Hog! Would you do me the honor of riding on the back of it Baby? We can do a cross-country tour and have a ball doing it! You are Hotter than a $2 pistol, and finer than the hair on a frogs ass. I shall Dream of that day.
Both the GOP & the Democrats are equally to blame for the mess our country is in! All the BS about them dueling it out is a smokescreen, the only difference is in their approach: the Republicans want to push us into complete chaos while the Democrats seek to ease us into the Brave New World while making us believe it's for our own benefit. They ALL are on the side of the rich, for the most part at least! Obama is turning out to be merely a watered-down, liberal version of Bush (same agenda).
@rapauli. It means the comment count gets updated more often than the viewer count. You're new to this aren't you. What did you think it meant though, I'm curious?
1:28, In America, the government doesn't even pass out the bread! Yet we are all fed!
1:33, if a man is gluttonous enough his pride will make sure he returns to fitness. Oh but according to the Christian faith we aren't supposed to have pride either.
1:37, every society has rules and rulers. Some rule and the others get ruled.
1:51, sounds sexy. I'd like to have my wealth back.
@DaveElectric People in countries with the least amount of social/economic inequality have better life chances than in social Darwinist America. Thats a fact not an opinion.
0:40, "Class" is an arbitrary category. And last I checked we ALREADY had an inegalitarian society. Where the fuck does she get this idea we are NOW going to have a capitalist inegalitarian society? God she is stupid.
0:47, yes it does. If I have a tractor I can now create a job where a worker can drive a tractor. WTF is this woman talking about?
@Snarkipedia what about all the health insurance waivers that have been granted to some of the largest companies, like McDonald's ? that creates an unfair trade advantage over the small mom-n-pop burger shops.
It would take hours to rebuttal all the garbage coming from this woman's mouth.
We do not (and did not recently) have "deregulation" ( rather BS word).
Robbin Hood stole from a King. Not "the rich". She has the whole story backwards.
0:41, capitalists do not "steal" any wealth from the workers. If their profit was from some Marxian idea of "surplus value" there would be no economic reason for them to exist. Worker co-ops would outcompete them in the free market if that were true.
@geminyo. I guess that he's a dick, but I'm projecting, I don't know him. He's probably in.....second year of an.....economics degree....learned about free market economics last week and the terms are still fresh in his head LOL. Still a dick though. Oh, and I'd like to put him in Bangladesh and leave him to it, see how he likes that free market.
The Koch Sisters, and The Rest of Their Ultra Neo-Con ilk Should be Driven Back Into The Holes From Whence They Oozed....It Isn't The Koch Industries, It's The Koch CULT.......
@Sorry4DoublePosting Really? They aren't funding it? I suppose the tea party just came out of then air. Thank Heaven someone made them up, because God knows media is all over Soros.
The Koch brothers are assholes. Definitely rich and definitely assholes. Their father was one of the founding members of the John Birch Society. They are as paranoid as their father. They are behind the Tea Party.
Disagree with @mana24... as a govt employee, I believe we DO create wealth. I have job, and so I able to: 1. I buy things with my paycheck, 2. support the arts, wildlife, environment, etc. 3. pay taxes. 4. pay rent 5. take public transportation. This - only on about $17 per hour - working in Silicon Valley!
The Koch Brothers - sole support of the Tea Party - and whose main goal is to set out to divide and conquer all of us. Good luck to us all - if we survive.
@humanbeing524 govt employees jobs are sustained by taxpayer money.... all the gov is redistributing wealth from the taxpayer on to you... so no, gov jobs do not create wealth, just as the gov at best redistributes wealth or at its worst it destroys it.
why do people vote republican? independents and register democrats, why do they vote republican?
they elected bush twice and they filled the house with the gop. what do they expect from them? of course they're going to push anti-union laws, its on their damn website.
the list of their prime adjectives are clearly to abolish unions, federal minimum wage and social entitlements.
The first corporations were products of the Federal government subsidizing transportation contractors, like rail road companies.
And if someone doesn't produce those goods and services, companies do not accrue wealth.
vcdaniels 9 months ago
@vcdaniels It certainly is true. If a robot was created to perform every human labor task, there would be no reason to employ anybody. It is the Labor of the robot, or machine, that would produce wealth. When people can be viewed as property, bio-machines for generating labor power, then the function of government becomes one of protecting property, not rights or people themselves.
etzel33 9 months ago
@etzel33
Do robots build themselves?
vcdaniels 9 months ago
@vcdaniels Mine do... in this scenario. It's the moral dilemma behind Heinlien's I, Robot and also behind the Matrix series (Animatrix) The point is that corporations aren't in the business of employing people, but of making profit. Labor is a cost, and the lesser the cost the better for them. This is why we have slave nations like Indonesia etc....
etzel33 9 months ago
@etzel33
However, the trade-off is YOU have to get off of YOUR ASS and DO THE LABOR.
vcdaniels 9 months ago
(cont.)
I am QUITE sure that any CEO of any corporation is well aware of this fact. Which begs the question:
Why don't major corporations just zero out their payroll and convert to DIY labor? Is it:
a) They're too inept and unable to do the needed labor themselves?
b) Too lazy and refuse to do the needed labor themselves?
or c) They have an entitlement mentality and believe themselves to have the right to demand others to do the needed labor for them?
vcdaniels 9 months ago
@vcdaniels Entitlement to what? To live? This idea of "entitlement". Try replacing it with "EQUTIY"... equity in the sovereignty of your nation. Is a retarded person "lazy"? Is a 70-yr old ex coal miner, having worked since he was 16, "lazy"? Were the chinese who build the Union-Pacific railway "lazy", or the slaves of the South, or the millions unemployed today "lazy"? Entitled? Are they freer in Indonesia than int he US because they will work for so much less? Hmmm...
etzel33 9 months ago
@etzel33
Are CEO's retarded?
Is a 70-yr old ex coal miner, having worked since he was 16, a CEO?
"Are they freer in Indonesia than int he US because they will work for so much less? Hmmm... " That is my point. Indonesia, Hong Kong as well as many countries in the southern cone embraced free market, supply-side, Chicago Boy economics . . . and they are no more free for it.
vcdaniels 9 months ago
@vcdaniels Then we agree :)
etzel33 9 months ago
@vcdaniels Ah yes... and the resources to make this labor worth anything? Land, energy? All you're saying is that DIY means the wealth goes to you personally. You're making her point.
etzel33 9 months ago
@etzel33
Or that you can't eat in a 5-star restaurant while you're working a lathe?
vcdaniels 9 months ago
(cont.)
Just as, for some reason, CEO's whine about America's corporate tax rate. Yet they don't just pull up stakes and go to Somalia or China. Is it because they know that, if they were to do that, they could no longer hide under Mama USA's skirt anymore? Is it because they know that, for all their bitching and moaning about Obama's "socialist" policies, they wouldn't be better off under Sharif Sheikh Ahmed or Hu Jintao?
vcdaniels 9 months ago
@vcdaniels Even though due to write-offs and loopholes, few of them actually pay it. In fact, Many Corporations get, get this, they get refunds of millions of dollars. Another good reason not to leave.
notsotupelohoney 8 months ago
@notsotupelohoney
Go live in China where they don't beg you to pay your damn taxes, they TAKE them".
vcdaniels 8 months ago
@etzel33
If you recall, in the Animatrix, the first machines - AND their AI's - were the products of man's LABOR.
vcdaniels 9 months ago
@vcdaniels Yes, products of labor... but not owned by the people who assembled them. Workers get the right to live another month in exchange for their labor. The owner gets the robot. Much like some jews are allowed to live to help dispose of all the dead jews in the camp.... well, that's over the top, but to the point.
etzel33 9 months ago
@etzel33
Who owns the property is rather moot when no labor has been exercised to create that property is it not? The fact that I own a laptop does me no good if a worker never put forth the LABOR to ASSEMBLE THE LAPTOP. Ownership is MEANINGLESS when there is nothing to OWN. And the only way anything to own is PRODUCED is when LABOR is applied to CREATE it.
vcdaniels 9 months ago

Until then hospitals, insurers, drug companies will continue to rip us all off.

a. production creates wealth, the people who own the means to production and pay people to produce it, own what is produced.

What a RACKET!

the reason people vote it gop is that they the government should not get involved in free market system and every time they do they make things worst. It simple fact that government can afford health care the way it is now. The quality of health fall or a lot and rationing result. People with best social skills will get the best health care. It is economics 101. Or the government can go so deep into debt that it fail apart and many people will go broke.
spark300c 9 months ago
@spark300c Actually, it is more complex than just "no hand" or "two hand". It depend of the markets conditions. Health care is a rare market where non-profit organization create more wealth for the society than equivalent "for profit'. Therefore, it became better when you have Medicare for all or something similar. Why? 3 reasons: 1. How many hospital by coffee shop? 2. How many religious or non-rational believe there is toward health-care? 3. Do you have time to read a manual in emergency?
therrydicule 9 months ago
@therrydicule non profit is still not part of the government. When government involved in not called nonprofit it called socialism. How ever if non profit created more wealth then there be more non-profit hospitals. Anyway the government has solve not the cost problem with out limiting care.
spark300c 9 months ago
@spark300c Does Adam Smith was a socialist? And does "socialism" is really... Bad?
Also, no their will be not be more non-profit hospital: if you stand from the point of view of the hospital they are making way more money at a personal level by being for profit because they are a monopoly with uninformed client that are not really rational. The problems with that are negatives externalities.
Plus, prisoner and the military have gov't health-care ; it's also an equal protection clause cases...

LibertyDownUnder 9 months ago
@LibertyDownUnder what a load of bullshit and crap/ medicare is the most supported government policy in Australia and blaming the disabled for not having the ability to work is fear mongering. And talk of a corporatist system, you would impose it 100% on the community. Typical libertarian spin. the Koch bother the two biggest sponsors of libertarian think tanks are the corporatist system. And you are their puppet
franks2732 9 months ago
@franks2732, we have almost 900 thousand people on disability pensions. Do you really think that many people are disabled? Really?
LibertyDownUnder 9 months ago
@LibertyDownUnder First of all only 757K are on disability. John Howard made it harder to get the pension but numbers have still increased. The average person is on it for 12 years and either dies (funny the reason they get it is they are too sick to work) or goes over to the old aged pension. So it has little to do with the "ability to work". As the doctors forms, the medical examinations and eligibility criteria are very strict. So yes I do think nearly all people on it deserve it.
franks2732 9 months ago
@LibertyDownUnder And it is not a golden goose, the payments are less than $700 per fortnight when rent assistance is included. So if you live in a city where rentals are over 340 per week you better pray you have someone else to help. It is not an easy life. It is like the old aged pension. Compared to Western Europe it is one of the lowest payment rates whilst being one of the hardest to get. People do not like getting sick and don't lie about the fact they are. Your comments are disgusting

@LibertyDownUnder Our government is so generous it pays some of the cost of private schools so rich kids don't have to pay the full fees. franks2732 9 months ago
@franks2732, public schools get about $12 grand per student, private schools get $6 grand.
So those 'rich kids' are actually saving us money.
LibertyDownUnder 9 months ago
@LibertyDownUnder yes but that is not the case but it is not the truth of the matter with "elite' schools who pocket millions in government subsidies. In federal and state grants the five top fee paying schools in Australia received some 12 million dollars. All of those schools recorded profits in excess of 3 million each. Gellong Grammar for example making 10 million. Secondly public schools are available for all people. You choose to send your child to a private school. TBC
franks2732 9 months ago
@LibertyDownUnder Further to that with the combination of private funding and government funding the average private student gets $4000 more than a public student does. A private school on average gets $15,000 per student. @LibertyDownUnder you really don't see when a person puts Obama in a African tribal outfit as being racist. The tea party are dead and they hurt the GOP LMFAO
franks2732 9 months ago
@LibertyDownUnder "I think you understand this now" no I do not and secondly I find you're comments stupid, niaeve and without foundation in much fact.

@rapauli 'Hmmm at one point you had more comments than viewers...hmmm what could that possibly mean?'
Maybe that some viewers commented several times?.. But that's just me using common sense before I blabber.
ChainReaction666 9 months ago
@rapauli. It means the comment count gets updated more often than the viewer count. You're new to this aren't you. What did you think it meant though, I'm curious?

1:19, "decency" is an opinion.
DaveElectric 9 months ago
@DaveElectric People in countries with the least amount of social/economic inequality have better life chances than in social Darwinist America. Thats a fact not an opinion.
dysesthesiaAethiopi1 9 months ago
@dysesthesiaAethiopi1 You say that is a fact, yet you don't give a theoretical economic arguement as to why that must be true.

0:59, she doesn't know what a real "thug" is.
1:03, winning the electoral process is not "hijacking" dumb ass.
1:11, BS use of "dictate".
DaveElectric 9 months ago
@Snarkipedia what about all the health insurance waivers that have been granted to some of the largest companies, like McDonald's ? that creates an unfair trade advantage over the small mom-n-pop burger shops.
ryan1the8grate 9 months ago
It would take hours to rebuttal all the garbage coming from this woman's mouth.
We do not (and did not recently) have "deregulation" ( rather BS word).
Robbin Hood stole from a King. Not "the rich". She has the whole story backwards.
0:41, capitalists do not "steal" any wealth from the workers. If their profit was from some Marxian idea of "surplus value" there would be no economic reason for them to exist. Worker co-ops would outcompete them in the free market if that were true.
DaveElectric 9 months ago
@DaveElectric DerpElectric is obviously a "free market" guy. But to what extreme? I'm guessing anarchist. Yup. Market anarchist. Any other guesses?
geminyo 9 months ago

Good luck to us all - if we survive.
humanbeing524 9 months ago
@humanbeing524 govt employees jobs are sustained by taxpayer money.... all the gov is redistributing wealth from the taxpayer on to you... so no, gov jobs do not create wealth, just as the gov at best redistributes wealth or at its worst it destroys it.

"sigh..."
why do people vote republican? independents and register democrats, why do they vote republican?
they elected bush twice and they filled the house with the gop. what do they expect from them? of course they're going to push anti-union laws, its on their damn website.
the list of their prime adjectives are clearly to abolish unions, federal minimum wage and social entitlements.
stop voting for them if that's not what you want.
