also, how the hell do you plan to make money without selling data? And do you realize that only nerds care about their data being sold, and that nerds never click on ads if you want to monetize that way later? I know, paid subscriptions! You're going to have enough trouble acquiring users anyway, why not make them pay?
@gairabad Thanks for the feedback! We have plans for monetization but none of them include ads, selling user data OR subscriptions.
People were sceptical about iTunes, thinking that no one could take on the record labels and now Apple basically owns the music industry. If every underdog was to throw in the towel when faced with competition we would never have innovation. We know we have an uphill battle, but we’re doing it anyway. We hope you continue to follow us so we can prove you wrong ;)
company culture doesn't matter to users. I don't think Google plus has ads either. Your most compelling feature is lame. And you'll never have the network effects necessary to build a social network that is actually useful. Witness the fact that this video has 675 views and I'm the only one who has bothered to comment. You might as well throw in the towel now.
@gairabad Actually there's quite a few differences, from the culture of the company to the features of the platform. To start we don't have any ads on our site and we don't sell user data to third parties or advertisers.
Google+ circles are basically the same as Facebook lists (or groups) in that they simply give you filters. Context is more than that, on Hibe you can have a different Avatar, contact and profile information for each of your audiences, and interact differently with each one.
