This is proof Yoda is the most powerfull Jedi of all time. The fact that he fought 800 years as a Jedi and in the end died by a natural death and didn´t get sliced by lightsabers or killed in battle shows no one was near his power. @Flash11I19 Well I recently read a expanded universe star wars book that contained a recording of a young Yoda (didn't say how old he was) reporting to Jedi Masters about losing some important ship with Jedi knowledge on it. Yoda seemed very powerful then. The only clue as to where Luke might find the ship was the name Dathomir. By the way the book is Star Wars: The Courtship of Princess Leia. It is quite interesting as it is about the Princess and Han Solo getting married.

I think Yoda's death was sad because he a kind, strict, and fatherly figure to Luke after the death of his parents and Kenobi. And after everything he did for the galaxy [that some of us find out later], yet to die in solitude just seems so depressing to me.

And I didn't like the idea of the final battle of episode six being with teddy bears. It is more fascinating to see how Mr. Lucas treated the special effects, the storyline was far less predictable in the first trilogy. So it's hard to say. I say they're all great. New and old.

The 'wise master' that failed. Yoda said he was over 900yrs old, while at the same time Darth Bane (Expanded Univ.) Created the Rule of Two (1 master 1 app. for the Sith).
