I saw him perform this in about 1985. He started with pretending to find the right key, then played it slow before launching into a full rocking big band rendition.
Wow, thank you so much for posting this -- not only is Ray his usual genius self, but it's the only video I've seen so far that shows Clifford Solomon (tenor sax, orchestra leader). He was the love of my life so it's been such an emotional bittersweet experience watching it over and over. Rusty Rae

This is SO great. Look at 3:49 when he jumps three octaves with his voice. This guy was pure music, I don't know of anyone else as deeply musical as Ray Charles. It is amazing. And the band, affff, is just fantastic... thank you!
dan wilensky on lead alto 18 yr old from berkeley high- an amazing player who played jazz solos at a very mature level- he was so good i had him record on my jazz and funk demo . i took a tenor solo and then he would after me -i was 28 - check out my videos on you tube-fred horn or steady freaddy- funk jazz with rocco prestia and more
@SteadyFready I met him on a boat touring through the Kenai Fjords in Alaska. He and my dad were having a conversation. He ended up telling my dad that he was a musician, so my dad introduced me to him.

Saw Ray sing this in Minneapolis years ago. Seeing him in person you can't believe one person could have this much talent.
