  • Ok for some reason, this scene with the Ghost of Christmas Future (Pete), kind of looks like something Don Bluth would animate. It has that really dark feel to it

  • Pete sends Scrooge MacDuck to hell for his sins! XD

  • "The richest man in the cemetery!" Unforgettable line.

  • i luv it wen Tiny Tim says " And God bless us all" :)

  • Seeing Mickey Mouse cry is one of the most heartbreaking images in one's childhood. :'(

  • i cried, tiny tim is so cute <3

  • merry christmas to everyone

  • Bnnj

  • 3:33 "Well I'll be dog gone". Gets me everytime!

  • @arutkow Thank you, I just could not make out his duck talk.

  • i c a lot of characters from the robin hood movie merry christmas 2 everyone

  • It's almost that time of the year again. Can't wait

  • Merry Christmas to everyone and God bless you.

  • "Spirit, Who's lonely grave is this?" "...Why yours, Ebeneezer! THE RICHEST MAN IN THE CEMETARY! HAH HAH HAH HAH!" >:D

  • Definitely Pete's greatest role alongside The Three Musketeers.

  • @bordertown I love you.

  • @bordertown can't forget the Prince and the Pauper

  • Pause it at exactly 0:24. Look at the expression of lost on Mickey's face. Isn't that one of the saddest things ever plastered on ink and celluloid?

  • @SardaukarPrime ohhh it iss it is!!!!! how could you remind me,how could you

  • @SardaukarPrime That's exactly my opinion! I don't know how but this short piece of animation with Mickey infront of Tim's tombstone has left a bigger impression on me than even Mufasa's could achieve.

  • The part with Scrooge hanging on a tree root while struggling to avoid falling into a coffin full of fire always made Me feel uneasy as a kid every year My family watched it on Christmas Eve but of course that doesn't scare Me as much now, only because I got an even worse Disney experience involving hell at Disneyland when I rode Mr. Toad's Wild ride at Disneyland as a kid. Compared to that, the graveyard scene here might as well be a fluffy water downed fairy tale compared to that experience.

  • @Thenumber1yoshi How About The Hell Hound Scene In All Dogs Go To Heaven? Why In The Hell Would You Make That For Kids?!

  • Man, no matter what version it may be, the death of Tim is always sad. I almost teared up at this.

  • Tiny tims death makes me soooo sad :(

  • This is my childhood, here, I remember watching this every Christmas. Remember the old cartoon with Bugs Bunny reading the Christmas Carol to his nephew with the Tazmanian Devil masquerading as Santa Claus? All classics to me, just as amazing as It's a Wonderful Life. I wished those cartoons came on every Christmas like they used to. *sigh*

  • @PrimeTimeJokesta Agreed.

  • @ReligiousHero thanks, I miss when they used to show these shows all the time, I wonder they don't anymore? Only cartoon they show is Charlie Brown.

  • Pete scared the shit out of me as a kid.

  • @zperra same here

  • "Scrooge was better than his word. He did it all, and infinitely more; and to Tiny Tim, who did not die, he was a second father."-Charles Dickens I love how disney pretty much sums this up with this simple ending scene of the kids climbing on Scrooge in the chair.

  • So. Many. Cameos. 8O

Mostly from Robin Hood as far as I can tell. <3

  • Despite it being a half hour long and being animated with Mickey Mouse, this is one of the best versions of Dickens' classic.

  • @KBAfourthtime I also saw the wolf and three little pigs as kids as scrooge comes out of the toy store.

  • The scene with Mickey infront of Tim's grave is heartbreaking.

  • The fiery coffin scene made me think of All Dogs Go to Heaven. When Charlie has that dream that he gets dragged down to Hell. Both are pretty scary scenes. Yay old kids movies!

  • The part with Scrooge's grave was the scariest scene ever. Especially when fire came out of the coffin with a horrifying glow leading to Hell.

  • @vgiannell5 Was this in reference to the 1970 musical with Albert Finney, which had the hell scene?

  • @benschlechter Not really. It's just that next to The Black Cauldron, this part of Mickey's Christmas Carol is really scary just as scary as the Christmas Carol of 2009 since Scrooge's nightmare ended with him falling into his coffin.

  • The scene at the graveyard made me want to pray for the first time

  • 2:34 I notices Skippy and Toby from "Robin Hood" and Mole and Rat from "The Wind in the Willows".

3:19 I just also saw Skippy's beautiful mother and one of the owls from the former of the two films.

  • U can't get any better than mickey's Christmas Carol the best one in my apinoun love mickey an Minnie

  • For me. tiny tim's death is one of the saddest deaths in disney history. So sad :'(

  • @MrBurns242: Actually, they're his & Minnie's neice & nephews from the comics, just like Houie, Dewey, & Louie for Donald.

  • I. can't. stop. crying !

  • Aaaww, the ending is so cute!

  • "well I'll be dog gone" " you mean your comin?" "I will uncle Scrooge, I will!"

  • I just have to find this on DVD now while it's summer lol

  • 20 years later, I still can't understand what the hell Donald is saying at 3:33

  • @VestaBlaze09 Well I'll be doggoned. Right?

  • @VestaBlaze09

    join the club

i wish i could find the DVD and put on subtitles

  • Damn you Mark Henn! You made Mickey make me cry! :'(

  • this warms my heart :D

  • 1:25 onwards used to scare the crap out of me as a child!

  • Opening to Mickey's Christmas Carol 1990 VHS

  • what's the name of the character they have used as the ghost of Christmas future here?

  • @kevthedrummer I believe his name is Boris but i'm not sure

  • @sailorwinxgirl: Pete. Aka Pegleg Pete. Neighbor of Goofy (Goof Troop and the Goofy movies) & nemesis of Mickey (the classic B&W shorts to the present-day).

  • @kevthedrummer It's Pete

  • Memories

  • One of those weasels sounds like Peter Lorre.

  • the one who disliked this is heartless

  • It's Skippy and Toby from "Robin Hood"!

  • oswald the lucky rabbit has 240 bunny children

  • the grave reads "R.I.P. 80's and 90's movies and TV shows"

  • there's a remake of christmas carol called "Marly's Ghost". I highly suggest it, it's about a guy in high school named ben who no longer feels love after his girlfriend died. He becomes very mean to all of his friends, on valentine's day instead of christmas. Tiny and Tim are remade as two gay guys who date in high school even though some people make fun of them.

  • So, these mice and ducks are salivating over roast goose, pigs, and turkey.

Truly, Disney presents us with a dark vision.

  • @feloniousbutterfly its trying to show that we need to be kind. well your stupid

  • @feloniousbutterfly LOL Notice cameos from the kids from robin hood

  • @feloniousbutterfly and god bless us everyone

  • childhood right here

  • Merry Christmas people!

  • God bless us, everyone! Merry christmas to all, far and wide!

  • I'm A man DAMEIT! but I'm crying?! T_T

  • The ending to this classic cartoon sent goosebumps all over my body. Amazing.....

Merry Christmas and as Tiny Tim said: "God bless us, everyone!" :D

  • classic

  • Merry christmas! I watch this every year today. :D

  • Call me weird but seeing Donalds relentless joyful spirit made me sob when he finally in the end got the same kindness back.

  • I love the cameos in this! Anyone catch Toby and Skippy from Robin Hood at 2:33?

  • ?!?!?!?!?!?.......

  • MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL PEOPLE ON YOUTUBE!

  • Browbeaten by scary ghosts into playing a do-gooding daddy figure indeed.XD

  • thx so much for posting this (I haven't seen it in so long)... a great version

  • @NinjaGhostScorpion I see great grief of loss from the Mickey's family. Darn, some speck fell in my eye:(((

  • Yes, money will not save you from Hell. Only love. And Merry Christmas to every one!

  • WTF

  • Mickey's Christmas Carol is the BEST verison ever

  • Now from greed to generosity. ;)

  • Save a penny for generosity and a pair of new shoes too. ( and teardrops too)

  • So Scrooge turns good and maybe, eeeehhh, you know, get with Isabelle and make a sexy time? Yes, I like! High Five! (two thumbs up)

  • so love during the holidays and year round!!

  • why it's yours ebeneezer, the richest man in the cemetary, pure terrifying

  • I miss this ...our Childhood was great..

  • That part where he gets thrown into his grave and the coffin slowly opens to reveal fire and brimestone always creeped me out when I would watch it as a kid. Though it did a good job making sure I wasn't a bitch on Christmas lol And of all the scenes that showed the negative outcome of Tiny Tim the whole tiny gravestone I think is the most impactive.

  • Man. I cried some. Poor Mickey and Tiny Tim... great animation, great story. This taught me not to be greedy and give and be thankful for what I have and my family and friends.

  • The part with Scrooge falling into hell scared me so much as a child... I always love the ending though. So sweet.

  • I LOVE MINI MINNIE!! She's so cute! 8D

  • Mickey has kids! Oh my gosh!

  • i love happy endings "tear"

  • this is a great movie! and a very valuable lesson, especially in the world that we live in today everything is money. they dont know the true meaning of christmas: giving and remembering the birth of our dear Jesus Christ our savior.

  • @carmelangel98 you know this story was written about 100 year ago, right? ~_~

  • @snager80 did iask how long ago the movie was written? ask me if icare.

  • question- is how long the movie very is?

  • I love watching mickey and frostey and I just love goffy! Thumbs up if this gives u childhood memories!

  • This was the first version of "A Christmas Carol" I saw as a child. Wow! It's been like 20 years since I've seen it. Thanks for posting it on youtube! It was great to watch it again. I love Goofy as Jacob Marley!

  • You know this is where Scoorge fall down to this death grave as a kid seening this too many times well this look like a rip-off movie of Disney "A Christmas Carol" of last year. This familar it look like the same, well you never too old for cartoon, hmph. Merry Christmas!

  • This and Muppets Christmas Carol are my faves, this is myfave cause when i was 5 mom bought me this for christmas and i loved it so much ^_^ my fave has always been Christmas Presant

  • This was the first version of of the Charles Dickens' classic I ever saw, and it's still my favorite. I was a huge Mickey Mouse fan as a little kid, and Goofy was absolutely hilarious as Marley.

I still have this gem on VHS. I need to get my Scrooge plush through the wash. The old guy got dirty somehow. :(

  • When he's about to fall into the grave + Pete's evil laughter = scaring the shit out of me as a child.

  • I somehow found it funny when Scrooge's hat was ripped at first, but then it's looking normal when he meets the people collecting funds and he locked his bedroom doors, yet he opened it as if it wasn't locked at all... Probably animation physics :P

Anyway, this is the best Christmas special I remember watching as a kid.... sigh... I miss the nostalgic years... -_-

  • I think as you watch it through the years, you understand more and more, and it gets more and more important to you. Not just as a tradition, but as a lesson learned in this world.... Merry Christmas everyone, and may God bless you through this magical time of year!!

  • I remember watching this every year around christmas time when I was younger. This year we are reading the story in school and I thought back to how everymorning around Christmas I would wake up and have the earge to watch this movie. To watch it again makes me so unbelievabley happy. It may be old but its spirit will never die. Thank you:)

  • I grew up watching this as a child. My parents recorded it on VHS. Wow, tiny Tim made me cry!

  • I love this version of a Christmas Carol. I've only seen it in Norwegian before so it was really weird to watch it in english, but it was just as good in english (and Scrooge having my favorite english accent is a big bonus :D )

  • Scrooge almost getting buried alive traumatized me as a child.

  • Merry Christmas and goodwill to all!

  • Truly heartwarming. God Bless Us All and Merry Christmas!

  • "THE RICHEST MAN IN THE CEMENTARY!"

  • I loved it when Donald Duck says Well I Will Be God Darned lol.!!!!!

  • Pete as the Ghost of Christmas yet to Come is a classic!

  • God bless us every one

  • I've probably watched a version of this story for every year I've been alive. Only one ever made me cry. This one.

I can watch the biggest name actor on the silver screen as Bob Cratchit, bawling over Tiny Tim's death and not even flinch. I can't watch Mickey Mouse shed that one tear without sobbing.

    Such a powerful cartoon, this.

  • OMG I'm 29 now and it must be at least 20 years since I saw this last! It still holds a special place in my heart and reminds me how simple and innocent life was when I was 9....it scares me how quick those years have passed. I remember watching this with my Dad (RIP old chap). I have my own children now and I'll be buying this on DVD for them.

  • Why did I never watch this as a kid? :( Oh well. I've seen it now and I love it. I'll make sure my kids see it.

  • I love this so much, it just isn't Christmas without watching this, and reading the original story. It may be a bit early, but I wish everyone a Merry Christmas, happy Hannukah, or whatever holiday you may be celebrating! :D

  • The end of this movie makes me so happy, but seeing how little mickey's family has just makes me want to cry.

  • It always bothered me how minnie mouse pulls a fully cooked turkey still attached to the serving tray from the bag of toys!!! GROSS

  • did the graveyard scene with Scrooge's open grave scare the crap out of anyone else? I'm 19, and it still gives me shivers.

  • The part from 0:11-0:31 is so heartbreaking. I feel tears coming to my eyes every time I watch that part. I feel so sad for Mickey and Minnie.

  • The story of A Christmas Carol, is a timeless classic; regardless of how the story is presented. I enjoy them all. Thanks for posting this to YouTube.

  • @MinkTheBluePanther01 "Well, I'll be doggone."

  • at 2:34 I believe the two children playing are from the animated movie robin hood

  • 5:00 gave me tingles

  • The old classics will far outlive Pixar.

  • Every time I hear Tiny Tim say "God bless us, everyone!" it gives me chills.

    MAN, I love Christmas! <3 :D

  • how i love my memories as a todler

  • To come to think of it ,Money always makes people happy. At first they were like all sad and now since scroodge is giving money they are so happy.

  • @xsliceofheavenx

You just dont get the point I believe?

  • this a very amazing and very powerful cartoon that every child should watch. :)

  • I wish it was Christmas already......

  • This movie can really show children what Christmas is about..

  • The animation done for Mickey crying is so heartbreaking and upsetting. Its just a shame 3D is taking over the movie world. They dont make movies like this anymore

  • this is emotional(sob) i feel like crying

  • Tiny Tim's voice sounds like a girl

  • the scene where the giant turns the light post into a flash light and scares some girl in a house by ripping the roof and marley's ghost scene are the two funniest scenes in this movie.

  • i gotta admit the ending is touching of seeing how an old sour apple has become a fruitful of joy and happiness. I love this cartoon and i love this story. tnks 4 posting this up X)

  • tiny tim is the cutest mickey EVER!!!!!!!!

  • @36phillyeagles that must be heartbraking for you.my dearest condolences to you and your family.

  • I'm such a fool. And if you want to know why, I'll just give you my email address.

  • mickey crying at tiny tim's grave is purely heartbreaking! :'(

  • emo..........

  • @AutumnxMeadows93 mickey's a jerk in other walt disney cartoons. mickey i've seen picking on donald duck.

  • @ultradumbass i know but mickey grew into a more lovable character over the years

  • @AutumnxMeadows93 I know right. Everytime i watch this i cry at that part. And ive been watching this every christmas eve since i was 3 haha x

  • didnt they make another version where "scrooge" pushed copiers and stuff down 20 stories?

  • I love the last image, its very sweet.

  • Best christmas story ever. Makes us think.

  • I went to see the full-length version of this story in the cinema yesterday and i got reminded of this charming piece of animation. but I was however surprised on how much the dialogs matched xD still great though ^^

  • Ok, that cemetery part scared the crap out of me as a kid. Twenty years later thought it would scare me less. I was mistaken.

  • *clap clap clap* i luv this thaks for the good memories of this :D

  • how nice

  • I grew up on this every Christmas. It was the definitive version of A Christmas Carol for me as a child, perhaps to what may have been Charles Dickens' chagrin.
