Aweee I loved this! Nice job, man. I've been a cellist for 15 years (classically trained, but I play mainly contemporary music) and went to Berklee. It makes me so happy to see another cellist playing contemporary well :)
This is amazing. Don't ever quit the cello. I play the piano, guitar, flute, picilo, and cello, and I think if I ever gave up one of my instruments I would regret it for the rest of my life. You have such and amazing talent, and it would be horrible to waste it. Go try out for an orchestra, they're always looking for new members. You can get paid good money for that. Or start street performing so you can share your talent with the entire world!
thats amazing! yea i find it easier to play by ear too. the music confuses me quite a lot hahaha. never before have i seen plucking like that done on a cello. guitar, no probs, but cello? respect!
This is my own version that I learned straight from the record (except down a step, in G, instead of A, the original key). Plus, the technique for playing it takes some development. I've spent a couple years getting my picking chops up. That said, I would encourage you to try it out. I think it's best to learn it by ear, rather than from a sheet of music. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Good Luck!

I don't have any sheet music, I just learned this by ear. I would recommend trying to learn it that way, you will find your own style.

You totally took me out! Nice Picking!

It's not really 'picking'. It's called plucking. There was also strumming, but that's not all too common on the cello.

yes and I'm pretty sure I also saw some scratching and smashing besides that!
