I looked for ways to stop rice sticking as I was boiling some, then I found your video. Placing the rice over boiling water is a very nice touch and improved my rice boiling skills 10 fold. Thank you very much fella.
Brown rice can be cooked in exactly the same way, but it will take longer. The trick is to use the cooking times on the packet, because unlike white rice, these will vary with different brands. After draining, steam brown rice in exactly the same way as I did with the refined stuff. It will improve its 'chewability' no end. Thanks for following me.
Hi, ive been looking for this video for a while. Just wanted to come back and say THANK YOU for that cool tip, [suprised every 1 lastnight by cooking some rice]

Looks interesting, im going to try it, but what is wrong with the starch? is it only as you say to prevent sticking?
danielmartinex 1 year ago
@danielmartinex Yes, removing the starch does prevent sticking but it also makes the rice look better. Separate grains instead of a stodgy lump.

Thanks, very informative. Can we use something else instead of vinegar?
vassilischr 2 years ago
Yes you can. Lemon juice would work just as well. It's the acidity that does the trick
