Peanut Butter Wolf brought me here. like it how the did jazzy stuff back in the 70's on songs for children, gonna have to check my old sinter klaas LP now. (im from Holland).

Thank you for taking the time to upload this soothing timeless "make-you-feel-good" melody from Vince Guaraldi's Trio. It brings back many memories from my innocent and naive days watching Charlie Brown specials on TV.
Can anyone name anything similar to this soundtrack created recently? In the last 5, 10, 20, 30 years??? I am having a hard time, but I am very tired at the moment...
@cochranexyz "A Sheffield Christmas Collection" (ca. 1993) is one of my favorites, and very similar to this. Search "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen A Sheffield Christmas" on youtube.
Everytime I hear this I remember buying that "real" Christmas tree with my dad and brothers. When we returned home "A Charlie Brown Christmas" was on the t.v.
There are so many things going on in this truly complex, hauntingly lovely song.. It's jazz, it's a waltz, there's a little touch of country in it, and so much more... I cannot listen to this song and not help feeling happy :-)
I still don't understand this. How can one person dislike such a festive holiday tune? Is it because there is no video playing? Did he not like the tiny mistake in the solo at 1:17? I actually think that the mistake at 1:17 makes the solo sound better. Did he dislike the album art? I still don't understand. No matter how good the video, there will ALWAYS be that idiot who presses the dislike button.
this music will NEVER get old..no matter how commercialized the christmas season gets, this music will always bring memories of my childhood back to me..its such a tradition. i love charlie brown, and vince guaraldi
This song is actually a lot easier than it sounds; lots of repeats, and the same tune is played over and over. The only thing that is difficult is the beginning, when the rhythm is a bit harder to play. Love this piece :)
@RadarFilms1 um.. do you have any clue what you are talking about?! This piece is really hard to play.. I myself have been playing piano for 12 years, and if you call the jazzy solo in the middle NOT hard... then you have something wrong with you... but yes, I do agree the rhythm at the beginning was harder for me to learn.. but DON'T ever say that a song is easier than it sounds.. because its not...
@412light I was able to cover this song in about three weeks, but I suppose it depends on who is playing and how often you practice it. I've been playing piano for only six years myself, but I didn't have as much trouble with this piece as I have had for others. Again, it depends on the person. In MY personal opinion, it is easier than it sounds. For you, it may be harder to play, but this is definitely not one of the more difficult pieces out there.
@RadarFilms1 It depends on what sheet music you're learning. I learned this song in a week (excluding the jazzy piano solo) because there was none in there :( (dumb online sheet music store) so yes, I agree that it isn't one of the hardest pieces, but it isn't a song you can pick up easily in a day (unless you are a piano master)
