Honestly Is he better than Viv Richards? How many test matches did he play against Wasim and Waqar At their peak? Do you know? 4. just 4 with an average of just 35. @killintymm When some college football team(american) wins the cup in US, it makes the headlines of every us tv channel...gets on the front page of all major websites...not that anyone else in the world cares about that football...but it happens everywhere, not just in india.
And about "other sports"...my gradpa enjoyed cricket, my dad enjoyed cricket and i enjoy cricket...we dont play sports b/c others are playing them...we play them b/c we enjoy them!

It's just that you keep telling yourself that you are the best and then when you lose you go crazy or you refuse to accept reality and just hang on to the notion that Sachin is God or Yuvi is Jesus. The reality Is That Sachin is one of the best ever, but nowhere near Bradman and Yuvi is fat & overhyped. Be honest with yourself and don't lie to your kids

@jay123tysk I don't know where u r from but if u can watch the indian news today..the day when india lost...u will have a better idea of how the indian media works. Most of these sport bits take 2-3 minutes max at the end of a 30 minute news show..so most channels (indian) are not over hyping or ignoring the cricket news. I am not saying that none of the indian channels create hype but many don't and as an indian, who watches news regularly, i can assure u of that.

@killintymm Cuz indians are smart people. They want a stable profession first. Then if they are good, they want to earn more in sports. That is why you have people like anil kumble,being an engineer first,then taking up cricket. Western nation people are a bit immature. Indians weigh the chances f making it great in a sport. So they prefer to get a stable income first. That is why they don't focus much on sports. Plus indians like to eat a lot of variety of food. That is why they are not so trim

If any one player is contending for #1 batting position for 20 years in the history of the game it has to be Tendulkar. When some one do that he is undoubtedly #1 batsman of his generation.
