  • Nice tone dude.. especially like the Hendrix cover in the beginning.. did you learn that from tabs ? Really nice vintage tones those pups are producing !!

  • @TheBdriver Thanks man. I actually learnt the solo a while ago but I reckon your best bet is to just search for it on youtube. There are great instructional videos free for all. I wish I had youtube when I was a kid! Cheers.

  • NICE !!! That sound is making me very excited about getting them installed on my new MIM strat !! Just got the pups today.. calling my store tech tomorrow to book it in :)

  • @TheBdriver Thanks for watching. Hopefully you will love them like I do.

  • Just bought hot golds with the hot bridge and can't wait to drop them in the strat I'm building!!! Those sound sick...

  • @yzguy01250 You will love them. I reckon they are great bang for buck. Thanks for watching.

  • Cant get mine to sound nearly as good as in this video, mine just sound muddy and dont give much tonal response when tweaking :S What amp and pedals are you using?

  • @jonas4556 Not using an amp or pedals on this one. Straight into computer with USB interface and using Guitar Rig. I also have another video where I have bypassed all amp and effects. I've got say the pickups sound quite bright and full of life to me even without any amp or effect tweaking. The honest truth is that not everyone likes Lace but I love them. Thanks for wtaching.

  • if i buy those pickups will i play like u!??????? if so i'll buy a case of them!

  • @1976Stratomaster Ha. Thanks for watching mate. My playing is certainly no where near perfect.

  • what pickups are you using for the wind cries marry tone? neck? neck-mid? etc..

  • @seabasss666 Thanks for watching.

Wind Cries Mary - Jimi Hendrix - Neck only

Lenny - Stevie Ray Vaughan - Neck and middle

Another Brick in the Wall Part 2 - Pink Floyd - starts off neck and middle end on neck only

Wonderful Tonight - Eric Clapton - neck and middle

See the Led Zep video for some dirty bridge tones.

  • Whats your pickup height adjustment?

  • @itaintmebabe714 For this video, all pickups were as close as possible to the strings. I have recently lowered the neck and middle pickups a bit to even out the output across the pickups.

  • Amazing. They sound better than my Lace Sensors Blue, Gold and Red

  • @itaintmebabe714 I'm very impressed with them and they are extremely versatile. Thanks for watching.

  • Clapton's Journeyman is a prime example as is Cry by Steve Miller!

  • @JoeNJ2 True. These pickups shine. Thanks for watching.

  • Nice clarity.

  • @365Avalon Thanks for watching.

  • i have lace sensors golds coil tapped in series and standard settings . dont beleive what some say about lace pups sound sterile. its BS lace sound good. and you can get the vintage strat sound..

  • @who8allthepies I agree. They are great.

  • I was very interested, then you played Gilmour, now im sold!

  • @fender1275 Yep. These pickups can certainly do Gilmour and more. Highly recommended. Thanks for watching.

  • Wow!! Those Lace Sensor Hot Gold Pickups Sounds Awesome On Your Fender Mex Strat!! I Might Try A Set Of Those Lace Sensor Hot Gold Pickups On My Fender Mex Strat Too!! Thanks Alot For Sharing This With Us, My Friend!!

    - Big Will / The Super Blues Universe

  • @BigWillieWillHom Thanks for watching.

  • What pots are you using?

  • @xJustynLx Same pots as on the MIM standard. I didn't change them. I think they are 250K.

  • For some reason, I have no request in my inbox asking me to approve your video response. You can feel free to try again. Cheers!

  • @jkretch72 Why thank you.

  • @jkretch72 Actually I think this video already is a response and therefore can't be used again. Not to worry.

  • I still can't get over how good these Hot Golds sound in your strat. Did you use Amplitube? If so, what patch & settings?

  • @camel747 Thanks again. I this video I am just using a free version of guitar rig that I got with my presonus interface. It is through the clean channel of a marshall type amp, with mild compression, reverb and slight delay. In all honesty it is the pickups, they are remarkable. I just played with this guitar at a jam and everyone said they had never heard any of my guiitars sound so "strat".

  • @sarinapaparone You sold me on the Hot Golds. I just ordered a set on the bay. Now comes the hard part, which is the waiting. In the mean time I'll just play your vid over and over again (as it is hands down the best demo of any lace pickups on YouTube).

Lace's own demo's would have had me convinced they sound pretty boring. You should get commission:)

    Thanks again for posting

  • @camel747 Ha. I'm gonna send your comments to Lace! Cheers, Tony.

  • Those Lace sound great. I don't remember them being that dynamic when they first came out but you've proven they can do the job. Some nice rippin there too dude.

  • @randooser Thanks for watching.

  • Beautiful midrange sound! "They sound crisp, sustain for ages and have some bite."

I agree with you, Tony. Very nice! :-)

  • @mkauchi Thanks for the nice comments Kauchi.

  • I think Christian got it in one there, Tony. They also look very good on that instrument. They don't always seem to sit that well. Lovely stuff coming out. Many thanks, regards Roger.

  • @2322Hoover Thanks for watching Roger.

  • Man I love your playing style, and your choice of music. And your tone! Seems like the lace sensors sound more stratty than a 'real' strat pickup.

So are these called 'Hot gold'? I'm having a bit of trouble finding the range that Lace offers. Thanks for the great post.

  • @camel747 I will send you a PM with some details.

  • Great. Now I'm gonna have to buy a set of Lace Sensors. Thanks a lot:)

  • @camel747 Ha. Thanks for watching. Love your demos by the way.

  • AAAAhhhh!

What a treat to listen ... 200% Strat Sound!

    Love it!

    CONGRATULATIONS & CHEERS, TONI! GREAT!

  • @notpopebuthope Thanks for watching Christian. I have to say I am really surprised by how much difference these pickups make.

  • At last...a great Lace Sensor demo. This has to be about the best there is on Youtube. Great playing and great tone. As for Alnico pickups. The stock on my Fender Am Std had great vintage tone, and.... great vintage hum also. :) Thats why I changed them for Lace!!

  • @MrFenderkev Thanks Fender Kev for the nice comments. Also thanks for the fantastic recommendation. Cheers.

  • very nice sound! like it...

  • @fistomania Thanks for watching.

  • @imguitarted Thanks Ted. I certainly respect your opinion given the calibre of guitarist you are rather than the other 80 or so jokers! Cheers.

  • @imguitarted Appreciate the opinion Ted. This whole pickup thing is pretty new to me but I have to say I am impressed with the new pickups. What you say is really getting me thinking about putting some Duncans in my other MIM strat. The Lace Pickups sound very modern and defined. Would you say the Duncans you mention above have a more vintage tone? Thanks for watching mate.

  • Sounds great, Tony. Crisp sound. Nice playing as always.

  • @Ajohn13 Thanks John.

  • awesome!!

  • @MrGuimbard Thanks for watching.

  • Man great demo! nice!!!!

  • @klv400 Thanks again.

  • I enjoyed listening to this! Keep up the great work!!!

  • Hey Tony, Nicely done my friend. I had a strat with the lace pups in it too, best strat I ever owned! Had to sell it a while back though.

    Cheers,

    Chris

  • @nahs1988 Thanks Chris. I love them so far. They have a really nice bite and with some compression sustain for ages.

  • The quality of sound is only equaled by your skill

  • @Scrubs2U Thanks for the nice comments.
