it had some good growl in the beggining, the first 2 examples sound good...midway through it got real boxy sounding.. something is not right..you should be getting way more low-end out of that thing..i haven't used one in a long time,but as i remember it was a decent DI for bass..anyway..the sansamp was niiice!!!
It sounds noisy if you listen. Is it something else that makes it or is the Art really noisy? Check out when you're playing with the bass around 4:40 min. Let me know, btw great video thanks for sharing!
@simonsaidwhat: I was going nuts trying to find out what that noise was... I found it!. It was actually on of my wires from my computer going in to the mixer. It was NOT the Tube Pre.
one problem this is mainly a mic preamp what you using it for is ok but it would rock with a good amp and mic combo just saying but over all pretty good
Wow, now I've gotta get me one of these. The bass sounded so warm and full through the tube pre. Do you think it would work if I ran this in front of my bass amp?
Yes of course it would. I have done it with my small amps that dont have that rich tone that a high dollar amp has. It works well, i recommend it highly.
@disturbedrocks992 Get one today. I use one wwith my bass and a solid state amp and it rocks. Bass > TubeMP Project Series > Hughes and Kettner 200BK's "active" input (the preamp sends a line level signal. SOUNDS AWESOME.
it does not sound tubey it sounds like a increase in voltage but no fat sound

turn off the gain of your mixer.. it is colouring the sound of the art tube.

If I get the art tube would I be able to connect it with my USB avid mbox3?
alexduran5678 10 months ago
@alexduran5678 yes you plug it in one of your channels through 1/4 cable or xlr if your warming a mic

Mmm volume is a bit low , I ended up having to crank up my monitors up a bit, at least you're not blasting my eardrums :P
Mmmm not sure how I sit with the bass guitar... I imagine running it through further processing ought to give it new life alongside the pre :)

can you use this preamp for acoustics or is it a completely different preamp?
MrMagic201 1 year ago
@MrMagic201: it can be used but it is prob not the best for that application

@PhuckHue2: What is?

It's a preamp review and the audio is so low, c'mon
ElPopularVale 1 year ago
@ElPopularVale: Try turning your volume up. I have had no other complaints about the volume and I also think it is adequate.
WorkingManStudios 1 year ago
@WorkingManStudios
It is far from adequate. It could be made 4-5 times louder and it still wouldn't clip.

@discoAL: It was most likely the bass. The squire didnt have alot of good low end.

@XFXHITMAN: Yes you are correct. I was just showing how it would sound with a guitar and bass. Its awesome on vocals though.

thats a bad comparison cos they are completely different products. you should have done, with the art tube and then without.

why did you you remove the sansamp when you were testing the art tube? it will ofcourse change the sound tremendously.
MrGetawaycar 1 year ago
@MrGetawaycar: I wanted people to hear the change, so they could have something to compare it too. Nothing beats a sansamp other than a real SVT.

a good thing to say would be what pickups you were using at what value
NapoleanXV 2 years ago
Good suggestion. I will keep that in mind for future videos.
Just to clarify: Used both pick ups in this video
Neck: P Bass split coil
Bridge: Single Coil
Volume: 100% both pickups
Tone: 100%

before the tube pre it sounds like a super nice rig and after the tube pre it sounds like my crate bass amp. and thats not good.
