take those panels and put them in the basement.first you take a parabolic solar concentrator and put an robotic arm on it to follow the suns path.then make the focal point a mirrored shape cone that will send the light down through mirrored glass tubing straight into a mirrored shape glass box inside the mirrored shape box will be several solar panels that spin to keep them cool the mirrored box must have the mirrors inward to reflect the light sending from the parabolic focal point.ken van horn
For anyone who may have doubts as to the efficiency of this heating method don't be concerned. We had the same type of radiant heat in our home in Germany back in 1990 (yes, the U.S. is behind the times on this one). It was absolutely wonderful. I was never cold. In fact, I often went barefooted in mid-winter. It was so nice to step out of the shower onto a warm floor. Our earthsheltered home was built in 1985 -- Oh, how I wish we had known about radiant heat when we built this home.
Iam happy you saved money on the job but I think you shorted yourself by using that crap quietside qvm 9 tankless heater I installed one for a coustomer and wont touch anotner one again full of plastic parts and o rings just a matter of time befor that thing gives you trouble plus it is made in korea and set up there so most of the time you have reset the air inlet or it sounds like a dying cow.
Hi Lori, thanks for the great video. What is the manufacturer of the tankless water heater used on this project? Trying to figure if it can be used for household domestic water also while heating the flooring? Thanks.
The most common way that customers know they have a slab leak is the floor is suddenly warm, how now does someone know if they have a slab leak? Also if the tubbing develops a pinhole leak how is it commonly repaired, jack hammer the concreate? If a slab occurs in the water line how do they get to it if it's covered with radiant heated floor pipes?
Please feel free to see "ARKANSAS SIMPLE" (patented 1980, now up) "How to heat hot water" SIMULTANEOUSLY in and out of Cooling or goes back to Heat mode in ~2 hours if space heat calls. And HYDRONIC 4th function is in (view?) for radiators and in-floor. 1-800-382-3113 over 30 years !

what happens if you get a leak?
migo53333 3 years ago
Measure while you lay pipe and test and re-test system before operation. Leaks can be repaired and PEX (pipe maker)has the procedure on-line.
Thank you!

you would need a heat exchanger, you wouldnt want to mix domestic with the boiler water
