  • You just know that when an uploaders comments say " from a UK Tellyvision show" ... that the uploader is American and probably knows nothing about music .....

  • ooooo but will we rise ..

  • Very very awesome live...after playing KS in the car for years...i took the wife and my lad to see them in Cologne....only U2 in Rome was better live.

This is R&R at its best.

  • excelente version!!

  • Which year is it?? The preformance

  • great song and great band! This was from 'Later with Jools Holland'

  • el trabajo de la guitarra no tiene madre son buenisimosssss!!!!!!

  • Bad haircuts, great music.

  • again...8 people must have been out of their freakin' minds...

  • listen to pink fairies do it really funny and charsees also

  • The riff (and also some parts of the first verse) are from "Heaven On Their Minds" from Andrew Lloyd Webber's Jesus Christ Super Star. Crispian then used the exact same riff in Modern Blues as well. A nice little tidbit, Crispian also admits that he's a fan of the musical.

  • when the riff at 1.00 starts i want to eat myself its fucking monumental. one of the best rock singer/guitarists ever.

  • I completely ruined my first guitar my trying to make it look like his guitar. stripped it down to the wood sprayed it and even lacquered a dragon pattern onto it. when i put it back together again it just never played properly rattled on nearly every fret.

Made me save up for a nice shiney new strat though and the old Encore was put in the bin :)

  • ..and absolutely brilliant live!!

  • Crispian should be knighted.

  • camino a la clinica, antes de que naciera mi hijo, ibamos escuchando este temazo.

    Gigante recuerdo.

  • What a joy, what superb song, a heartbeat excelorator! Love them.

  • I want to be inspired by this

  • OVER THE POND IS SCUM FROM THE BRITISH LMAO :D TITS

  • brill  AAAAAAAAA++++++++++++ the best

  • одна из лучних британских команд!

  • Where do they find those wanker Brit TV hosts anyway.

  • @PhatElvis7 FOOL - that just so happens to be one of the UK's finest musicians. His name is Jolls Holland, look him up if you have enough intelligence to.

  • @neworder25 That maybe so, but he's still a first class bloody wanker. Founding member of Squeeze, now there's a band that brings back fond memories. You Brits kill me with your typical ostentatious, pompous attitudes

  • @PhatElvis7 I think there is only one person here showing an ostentatious and pompous attitude, which isn't surprising as I notice you are Canadian.

Jools' Later show is one of the best music programmes avaiable in the UK and has introduced many of us to some great bands.

  • @neworder25 Nothing wrong with a show that promotes good music. It's just the goofy, dorky, WANKER host that's laughable.

  • @PhatElvis7

oh and they dont have them on your side of the pond!

  • I've followed and loved their music for a very long time their musical ability combined with spiritual and life views bring some real messages to a wider audience. You can take it for its music, its message or both - any which way its all great. Even though their latest album doesn't contain quite the same breadth of messages, its still great - still wish I'd seen them on their last tour.... you snooze you lose!!

  • This is such a great live performance! Makes me happy to watch it every time. Think crispian,s been shopping in baby gap for that top though! :D

  • a lesson to shredders (and I am one!) this is the long lost of a fantastic riff!!

  • ram ram,,:D:D

  • haha, really,i can smell "deep purple" inside the intro:)

  • hes got some nice pants lol

  • Crispian is actually a devout spiritualist. . .Has travelled the world, embracing Indias culture, other religions and beliefs. . .Although he admitted to me that this album was too dark and the public lost interest in his music, then his previous album was too light and again the public lost interest, you need to find balance as this man is a talented musician. . .However still admired in Japan and Asia

  • love at first sight, live forever!

  • Can anybody please tell me if there are or were any INDIAN music bands/persons who have produced similar kinds of rhythm, tunes like the songs by Kula Shaker in their album "K". It doesnt have to be in English

  • i wanna know it 2....

  • Great like Hosannah

  • This album is AWESOME!!! <3

  • they're supposed to play at Fuji Rock Festival this year in Japan! btw, how old is this video?

  • 11 or 12 years old. This is "Later... with Jules Holland". Catatonia also played live on this episode. Kula Shaker played "Shower Your Love" and "Great Hosannah". Crispian wears dodgy trousers for the lulz.

  • were are they?

  • They have a new album out soon called Pilgrims Progress

  • Comment removed

  • these lads should have lasted longer, they were awesome.

  • carleone09 , she used to be ..

  • super stvar

  • @lennydado

Aww... Yo momma must be proud of your spellin'

  • awesome sound............ great show these guys were so amazing

  • Brilliant band, shame we only got one, or arguably two good albums.

  • Look at Crispian's hair ...

I love Kula Shaker! So much

  • Why the good bands die young??????

  • good question...:( So sad, people didn´t understand Crispian´s faith.

  • esta chingona la banda, buen bajista

  • They are just Uniquely Beautiful & they play music which gives PEACE.......Thanks Kula Shaker, PEACE to ALL

  • my bass tutor said that when their albums came out, they went off like a bang.

And i can see why. every song i have heard so far is totally awesome

  • Holy crap look at how many people are on stage! Beautifully gratuitous.

  • I really love kula shaker, stop fighting, more than a classic , this is a band of cult.

  • Like many, I completely agree that Kula Shaker was/is vastly underrated. I was so glad to see them live at a relatively small club in Boston (ironically enough it was called the Karma Club) after they released P,P &A. They are a very unique band with a vintage sound in a time when most are now just copies of imitations.

  • i like how you set kula shaker apart from "copies of imitations" while at the same time calling them "vintage". they are an imitation of an era that taste forgot. they are indeed unique, though, in that no other band of their time was painfully shite in quite the same way

i also like the concept of a band being "vastly underrated" yet selling shitloads of records and having several hit singles. there are a million incredible bands from the late nineties who never had any of that

  • wanker

  • Comment removed

  • Classic

  • music has no middle class, but I see your point, a very underrated band with a sense of purpose in their music,, this is what todays music lacks, I think..

  • Brilliant band. Possibly the most under-rated ever although i cant think why. Maybe due to them being middle class? anyway, amazing sound, mills is one of the greatest guitarists.

  • What the fuck are you talking about? middle class = underrated. How does that make sense in any way?

  • basically that during the 90s it was all about the working class heroes. I dont think alot of people like crispian. so yeah it does make sense dick head

  • oh yeah, i forgot how working class Blur and Radiohead are. Sort your life out

  • in Castelbuono (Sicily) kula shaker in cocnert....ohh so great..so rock..so nice concerto..

jumping for two hours... the new album is an other pearl..;))

  • way b4 my time but they are brilliant

  • belin che pezzo

  • since i was 9 i love them. i'm waiting for them to come back in rome again SOON :))

  • Long live Kula Shaker!

  • a grossly under-rated band. Crispian Mills is an exceptional musician.

  • mighty good!

  • E' da circa 7 anni che li ascolto, non finiscono mai di piacermi! Grandiiii

  • ive never really thought about them this way, but i guess kula shaker was actually a 'jam band'.

were they the UKs one and only?

  • cor, they were GREAT live, I miss em

  • yeah....but its not really though, is it?

  • Peasants Pigs And Astronauts is a masterpiece.

  • yes it is and i stil sing along to it. i recently put it in my top 5

  • Esto es música!!!!

    Excelente

  • Very nice.

My first time hearing this artist.

    Wow! Lovin' this!!

    Thank you!

  • fuckin great

  • Just fantastic. I love this song. Great to see it live.

  • awesome...love the vibe!

  • Wow! I never heard this before~

    Thanks Centurian73 for this share!

  • nice kunti mala XD

  • Almost a prophetic swansong on the UK & USA and their crumbling societies and economies

  • I love this band. The lyrics of some songs border on mystical and spiritual and I could foresake every other sound for them. How awesome can that be? Love 'em. Love 'em to bits.

  • One of the best bands ... ever. Thnx for posting ... I am rocking this!!!

  • most underated band ever

  • I completely agree! They really deserve much more credit than they were/are ever given. Most definitely one of my favourite bands. You gotta love Crispian!

  • @jag737

Agreed. I have been saying this for years. Fuck all the tinny modern day "indie" music, this was when they got it right. Kula Shaker would probably be my all time fave band it it were not for Oasis :)

  • @jag737 Im a real big KS fan...but at least they enjoyed the fame that Andy Partridge/Colin Moulding didn't ...XTC, the most underrated!!

  • The song and video dont match up lol.

  • Kula Shaker are the godhead

  • Good tune!

  • I made sure it was this song that saw in the year 2000 for me...so good to hear it again.

    Thanks !

  • wow. =D that was brilliant.

  • this is one of the best ive seen so far on it

  • for all the theological pandering that this song may or may not be guilty of, as an atheist i enjoy this song for what it is: a message of hope, a message to cheer us and above all a rather catchy number. cant you guys just enjoy the song?

  • It is a bit stupid to go onto Youtube to watch a video and end up arguing about religion, isn't it?

    Good song :D

  • have to agree sooperkula, we all know that we are going to hell anyway so whats the point of writing pish on youtube about religion.God,Jesus,The son of Christ,Allah etc etc have all been around "supposedly" since time began so i doubt that Kula Shaker can resurrect the great hossanah just by appearing on Jools Holland. mind you saying that... didn't they do that on ghostbusters 2 with that painting?

  • You're an idiot! He's not necessarily a dovotee of the lord. wtf He does have a sriritual perspective but your talkin bollocks!!

    Aaarggghh...

  • Actually, Crispian Mills is a Hare Krishna devotee.

  • The New World is comming and we must prepare, we must try to search out God. This a very profetic song. Listen closely. He is a devotee of the Lord and his songs teach us to become devotees too. The new world will go through some changes and the tables will turn. The Lords devotees will inherit the earth for 10,000 years and God Conciousness will be the goal of life. Not a car or a mansion or power, simply God.

    mother jhulan

  • Why don't you take your preaching somewhere else, Youtube is becoming a battleground for the God Squad and atheist nutters,

You didn't even bother to mention if you liked the song or not.

    Go argue with Pat Condell.

Great song, Great band, very underrated, Crispian Mills is a huge talent. He's a great singer and musician and of course he's the Grandson of the late great British actor Sir John Mills.

  • Oh, sorry only you may express your opinions?

i know Crispian Mills, he is a Hare Krishna Devotee like me. Do you see the tulasi beads around his neck? You don't know that the Great Hosannah is God? And all of his songs refer to God? Wow wake up man get connected.

  • I know exactly what Hosannah means and that tulashi is a plant, I still think you should go and chant your Maha mantra somewhere else.

  • theres no god ahaahahahaha....

  • I just stumbled across this... I remember hearing a song on my Internet radio player with the same tune, but not all of the same words...

  • I think the song you're talking about is "Last Farewell" ,it's track 10 on Peasants,Pigs and Astronauts,of which this is track 1, it's also a great song.

  • great live video..!!!

  • Very good live.

Accidentally took the wife and boys to see them in Köln a few months ago..now i can't find any of my disks.

  • I've seen, maybe 80 shows - this is one of the absolute best live bands. You have got to see them live to appreciate them. EXPLOSIVE!

  • Seen them, known them, got the tshirt. . .I played cricket at school with Crispian Mills, didnt know who he was then. . .But been intrigued with their music since they emerged in the mid 90s. . .Recently had VIP at Itunes in London, saw them in Bristol, Cambrige, Camden, but seriously their last album strangefolk is a big let down

  • i remember watching this years ago, i must've been 14 or 15, crispian did an interview with jools at the piano and looked so stoned he could barely open his eyes!

  • i really like kula shaker. but one time i made about 600 km to see them, and they canceled the show :( still great to listen their music.

  • they are one of my favourite all time bands, along with Pink Floyd and Radiohead

  • Still one of the best songs they did. Saw them earlier this year and was great. They've still got it.

  • Saw em live twice. Once in Cambridge in 98 and then at V99 (Chelmsford). In fact think it was the first band i saw live. Love getting out K and peasants for a listen every now and then not overly keen on newer stuff though :)

  • They should've never broken up. Too bad fer that eh? Lost all their momentum. They were awesome round this era.

  • every song on this album and the previous was beautiful, well crafted, thoughtful.

really balanced sound, and crispian was an explosive talent.

  • it needs to be re-recorded, it's an anthem we could all do with singing...

    crafted indeed!

the entire album could be re-recorded,

    or a part II

because really, we need a song to sing along with, we NEED real music

    nourishment

  • another great english band :) one of many

  • Fucking unbelivably good song. Proper mega.

  • totally agree

  • frigin awesome song, love it

  • Check out their new album folks - these guys are back and are bolder than before, saw them in Shepherds bush in Feb - this band truly gives you something to think about - could be just me but listenin to them makes me feel like a better human being somehow

  • sexiest singer ever !!

    love crispian !

  • Cojonudos

  • fucking great band -

  • this is one of the best songs of the 90's. As good as pearl jam or radiohead or red hot chili peppers. Great, Great music!

New record was out a couple of weeks ago. not as good but some solids rock songs. Produce by tchad blak i think, who did some grunge stuff in the past.

  • Great music from great musicians.

  • Astronaughts, Pesants & Pigs was a fantastic album! I'm really diggin' there sound! Not like the crap and spooge we have to suffer through here in the US! Guess I'm a bit biased too.....

  • er. that would be 'peasants pigs and astronauts' crispian is my hero

  • Right, sorry about that! Great album. I unforntately got rid of a lot of really great music during my bout with conservatisim and did a huge purge of anything that I thought was not "proper conservative" material. What a foolish thing to do, all my Kula Shaker CD were gotten rid of, fearing I was listening to "terrorist music"! That's what I get for listening to and buying into the crap those damned neocon Republican mouth pieces spew! Kula Shaker is impossible to get here in the US now!

  • huh i don't understand. You got rid of music because of the government wtf??! What's 'proper conservative' material anyway, any examples to give me an idea? Thx.

  • they wouldn't like "great dictator of the free world" then. class song written from the viewpoint of the "great dictator of the free world"'s, george W' himself, point of view.

  • mega stuff, better than most of the piffle around today...

  • This band is god im self its not DARK ... Hate from here ...

  • my fav band of all time and my fav song luv it!

  • Don't say luv and fav ...!

But yes great song and super nice band .!

  • Don't say luv and fav ...!

But yes great song and super nice band .!

  • great band, and great song!, the second sight the new song sound very good, and the video is very funny.

  • Great enjoy.

  • Great!!!!

  • I may be abit biased but this is the greatest band ever. And this is their best song. Its nice that the comments are becoming abit more frequent...By the rate of things Kula Shaker is defenitely on the rise!

  • This is my favorite song fron Kula Shaker, most of all for the lyrics

  • Fuckin Brilliant like.

  • AMAZING LIVE SESSION!!

    thank you!

  • this band made some great songs such as this one, a real epic classic! they could've been a lot bigger i suppose.

  • for me, when i heard this at glastonbury festival site, i knew that this is our anthem, the people of free albion...

england, what happened to our england?

will we arise, to a new world?

if we stand here together, we can learn from what we've done, all our time has been wasted and there's nowhere left to run...

will we arise? to the new world?

  • I like so much the music they made. It's too much different to anything I heard before. And Crispian is a great singer!

  • they didn't even try to make it big, if they had they would surely be the biggest rock band on the planet now.

no doubt. they have the music.

  • I have always loved Kula Shaker.

I bought their album K when it came out. Then didn't hear anything about them here in the US after that. But then in 96 i believe, I took a trip to CA, and saw that they released The album that this song is from. I love music with a middle eastern tinge to it. The Tea Party (their first albums) has this as well.

  • this is so good

  • żywioł. nie da się nie tupać czółenkami, gdy kula pobrzmiewa :)
