  • very nice bro!

  • I like the autotune, because it is meant for this music.

  • Nice guy, keep it up, good work !! old school like we love, i'm 30, i'm a fan of Masterboy, Capella...no matter what, it's very cool !! ;)

  • everyone can sing with Vocoder or autoTune these days

  • @Wickedgardengtp Never used to be like that. It's a shame how they overuse the technology nowadays and run it into the ground, and I have a feeling people will start to hate it, just like people thought synthesizers and mullets were the hottest thing back in the 80s. Overused to the point people couldn't stand it. Shame.

  • @Wickedgardengtp I was using this technology way before any Kanye or other shmuck decided to blow it up into a conformity standard. Fuck that.

  • @djwavmaster yeh. You can thank Peter Frampton for it...without him, none of us would really be using vocoders the way we do today.

  • Awsome

  • You're using Auto-Tune correct?

  • Coolness! How do you use all the knobs etc with the MicroKorg in the way??

    I love vocoder

  • Excellent! :D

  • i cant wait till i get my synth and macbook.

    but dude nice fuckin job.

    its amazing

  • Reminds me of that extremely annoying 'Numa Numa' tune.

    Really good job, though! Awesome.

  • cool!

  • great

  • lol sounds like basshunter

  • Is that an external autotune that you're running your voice through in the beginning or is it coming from the micron/microkorg?

  • two or more years old, so what I keep comming back to this song

  • Yeah nice work! Enjoy the polysix...look forward to seeing it work it's way into some of your stuff. -Bob

  • Thanks a bunch Bob. Will do! :) This was an old video and old song. This was my pittance for equipment 2 years ago lol!

  • nice work, you remind me a lot of eiffel 65 man :P

  • you really have something going for yourself darlin

  • are you using the microKORG or Micron vocoder?

  • Excellent song. I appreciate wat the little allesis can do, but the drum machine is a little weak in the low end department.

  • thats awesome synthpop stuff

  • Have you modified you're microkorg to take a standard mic plug? (i see it seems to be attached throgh the front rather then in the back...)

  • you can plug in any microphone into the microkorg

  • not a XLR one though, on the vid, it looks like hes drilled a hole in the menus and put in a jack for a XLR mic plug.

  • reminds me of eiffel 65

  • Haha! Eiffel 65 huh? Well, if thats the case, check out my Antares AVP-1 demonstration video. You may be surprised and actually like it. ;D

  • i do like it.

    its good stuff.

    I like eiffel 65 too :P

  • /drool

    nice setup.

  • are you french?

    kkkkkkkkkk

    good job ;P

  • EUROdance style rule the world!!! If you played this song in 90s, you'd be popular as eiffel 65 or dr alban:)

  • where can i download this song at?

  • i have a question. i really want to get a alesis micron and i want to know if the vocorder is slightly decent because i cant afford a program like anteres auto tune and i want to know if i can do something like it on the alesis micron.

  • Hi, is your mic plugged directly into the Micron? I'm thinking of getting one and am curious of its capabilities as far as vocoding.

    Thanks!

  • Oops, I just found my answer below. Thanks.

  • great job. I was thinking about getting into playing keyboard and eventually doing stuff like you do. is it really worth it?

  • ABSOLUTELY!! :D

  • Great song! What are the mics connected to?

  • The mic in front is connected to my Antares AVP-1 Vocal Producer module (you can see its bright green LCD display in the background) and the one mounted on the Korg MicroKorg in a very ghetto fashion is connected to, well, the MicroKorg. :)

  • hey Djwavmaster what do you honestly like better MicroKorg or Micron?

  • They are both awesome in their own unique ways and they combine to make pure awesomeness, so, I am sorry to say I love them both equally. Quick summation: Korg - excellent vocoder, hard to manage synth; Alesis - horrible vocoder, fantastic synth.

  • Sounds good bro

  • is your vocoder sound coming only from one of the synths? if so which one

  • Korg MicroKorg. I never use anything else for vocoding (especially since the Alesis Micron's vocoder is absolute and utter trash). :D

  • ¡Muchas gracias, yo comprendo que! :)

  • nice

  • vocoder?

  • Yep. :D

  • Your an amazing talent bro keep it up!

  • why dont you record your performances into your computer so that you can score the video instead of it coming out of a speaker with that room sound. it will still be your performance and it will still be live jsut better sound qaulity. i mean if you want a live sound thats ok. but it sounds like you are in a basement.

  • Duely noted. Thank you for the tip. :)

  • you work the micron.

  • I most certainly do! XD lol

  • are you using the microkorgs vocoder? if so how do i put it to thet setting? at the beginning i mean. to get the eiffel 65 sound

  • No, its a rackmount module (specially featured in another vid) called an Antares AVP-1 Vocal Producer. It's a different concept than vocoding. If you need more info on the effect, check out my Antares AVP-1 Demonstration vid. Cheers!

  • that was rather badass. when I get my microkorg I will become invincible.

  • nice job man

  • mp3 version of this song?? plz

    htatlinhtut@yahoo dot com

    i love the autotune!

  • that microkorg vocoder sounds amazing.

  • Sir, we love your tunes.

    Excellent job;

    please, continue.

  • i dont even like this kind of music but that was but this was good. i liked the beat, i couldnt really hear, i think what ever you used to recored it couldnt handle it

  • pretty dope. what kind of mic is that? you gotta buy a certain one for the vocoder? lemme know, thanks

  • god jobbbbbbb!!!!!

  • I like. I like to Microkorg vocoder. I've been thinking baout getting one for a while. I'm going to get one soon.

  • kool

  • got an italo disco flavor

  • nice!! i really like it!!!!

  • I really like this jam. Great job using the Micron. One day I'll be able to figure that out ;-P I'm still using presets...bleh.

  • You ARE skilled, much more than I am but man you should visit a real club one day or the other to get an idea of taste when it comes to music. This ringtone-bs will embarrace you big time some day. Hope you get deep some day!

  • Hey Great stuff. I think this video has persuaded me to get the micro korg. Keep it up . ;)

  • its really cheesy but i like it.

  • Thanks. It's an old song, but it's fun playing it. :)

  • Which has the better Vocoder?

  • MicroKorg. Hands down!

  • Hey, I just bought a microkorg, you got that sounding sweet, is there a way to set it to remember asetting you programmed? way too cool!

  • By default, the memory protect is enabled. When you have the sound you want, temporarily disable the memory protect by pressing shift and then button 8 while still pressing shift. The display will then look somewhat like "utP". with that displayed, turn the "1/CUTOFF" knob from on to off and then press shift. Now you have disabled it. Now press the write button and select the program number you want to write to. It will blink. Press write again and it takes ~3-4 seconds to process.

  • thanks for the tip, I tried it and it works perfect!

    peace!

  • were making babies

  • Pretty cool. Eiffel 65 like.

  • hmmmmmm microkorg or micron, microkorg or micron....why not both!?

  • Wow a Dj who can actually play an instrument! It is great you are actually writing your own songs instead of murdering some 80's rock bands'like so many other dj's. Kind of catchy, a bit Daft Punk in sound to me. Do you get behind the decks for a little turntabelisim or it just a stage name?

  • Thank you arganoth727. I love Daft Punk btw. Believe it or not I actually find turntables extremely restricting in terms of versatility, especially for the setup I have. I find that the Korg KAOSS pad KP2 is so much more rewarding for versatility and ease of use. I do a lot of producing and mixing as well in the studio, on my own accord, so I consider myself a "Hybrid" between Emusician and DJ/producer/sound engineer/etc. It's a lot of fun! It's my hobby.

  • Youre talented dude. You can sing, you can kick the shit out of keyboards, and your production is inspiring. Where or how can I get a copy of your album?

  • u rox

  • i love techno

atomic clock of destruction is the best

  • so cute

  • You rock, DJ Wavmaster!

  • How in the very beginning is your voice vocoding without you doing the notes that you are singing? You're just playing the chords... is the micro korg doing that or is it the synth you're playing the first few chords on?

  • Neither. It is a real-time rack module (the thing with the bright green display in the background to my right) called an Antares AVP-1 Vocal Producer. It produces the effect you are referring to called autotuning or more familiarly "the Cher effect". It's not a vocoder or anything like one. It's a very common misconception. I just simply attach the mic and sing through it and it "autotunes" for me immediately and automatically without having to touch it or control it. It's real-time.

  • Wow! These questions just get repetitive. Lemme sum it all up you people:

Autotune is on non-vocoded clean vocals.

If it sounds like a talking synthesizer, its the vocoder.

    Comparison of MicroKorg and Micron:

    Micron: Great synthesis, horrible vocoder.

Microkorg: Great vocoder, ok synth but the mini-keys and 4-note polyphony are not good for playing with two hands using more than 4 fingers at a time.

  • That makes me sad... I have no money for such expensive tech. Can the micro Korg do just regular vocal effects without having to vocode them (like echo & such... I'm considering buying one). I'm assuming the korg is only good for synths and vocoding and nothing else. (srry for re-asking that question too... people never learn)

  • lol!Unfortunately yes, that is the only purpose to the Microkorg. If you want regular vocal effects, the Korg KAOSS Pad KP2 touchpad dynamic effects processor/controller is fantastic for all that (and much much more, including its own vocoder built-in), and what's even better is it goes for ~$300 on zzounds and musiciansfriend. I own it and it's amazing! (It's not visible in the video but it's behind me on the DJ Cockpit)

  • haha. Seriously. I don't have the money for that!! :D It sounds awesome though... *sigh*

  • What you are refering to is not a vocoder but a concept called autotune (nicknamed "the Cher effect"). It is a very very common misconception. The autotune you hear is done by an Antares AVP-1 vocal producer rack module. Runs about $400 on zzounds. Where to use it depends on the artist. I do everything live, no computer loops and bullshit during editing, and I only have two hands during that time as I'm a soloist. So I can't really do a lot of things while playing, so I leave it on for example.

  • Nah, I understand perfectly. I will be posting a tutorial of the microkorg very soon explaining its features and intricate details, as well as some downfalls to be aware of and to try and avoid, so check back if you'd like. :) cheers!

  • I've been asked this question many times, and it all depends on what you want. If you want great vocoding and not too much synth and/or have another synth, then the microkorg is for you. If you want great synthesis and vocoding is not what you need or want then the Micron is for you cause the vocoder on the Micron sounds like a severely damaged ring modulator. lol. and thank you.

  • i love how versatile the micron is. very impressive songwriting and performance!

  • nice euro disco, I like it.
