  • better than the classic game room's review

  • Warning! Do NOT play this game on the Sega Smash Pack for GBA. I am so disappointed with the port. The graphics are the same, but the incredible soundtrack is gone...completely. There is only one 30 second audio-clip in the GBA version, which just repeats itself over and over throughout the game. Buy it on the Wii Virtual Console instead of the GBA, because the sound is a major part of the experience.

  • Just so you know, Stuttering Craig hates Ecco the Dolphin. This has been some running gag with his website ScrewAttack, who love to beat up a short-lived video-game series that I'd actually take over Sonic any day of the week. After several criticisms for his thoughts on the first Ecco game, Craig's response was a highly sarcastic view on the sequel Tides of Time. To summarise it: "Oh man, I'm so sorry for bashing Ecco. This game is actually good for all of this awesome stuff. No, Ecco sucks."

  • i dont see a problem w/ the review quality. Good shit man, keep it up.

  • i love ecco :)

and this review wasnt even that bad :D

  • @silverlover4life

Really? Well, at least it's reassuring to know that although I hate this review, others like it.

  • gaming mill does a much more lucid, flowing and ultimately helpful review than this stagnant tuna friendly waffle.

  • I agree with you there, this was my first review and I hate it myself. But then again all first reviews suck.

  • Disagree.

  • I though Ecco was another good mascot for sega

  • on ecco one enter this code in the password screen

    sharkfin

u start in the laggon with unlimited air

  • i believe the final boss of tides of time was a giant jellyfish

  • nope u fight the vortex qween

  • oh well i could never get past that stupid jellyfish

  • Very nice review, it´s nice to remember ecco the dolphin, the very first, when i had a sega genesis, brings back good memories ^^

  • Aren't you missing Ecco Jr.? If it even counts?

  • I was basically reviewing what I call the "main series" of Ecco games. Ecco Jr is more of a Spin-off Prequel to me since the gameplay and tone is a lot different as it's targeted towards younger gamers.

  • Ecco The Dolphin: Deffender of the Future was not related to the original story at all, and developed by an almost entirely different team. So if you're going to review the "main series" then exclude that one.

  • Thanks for the reviews, though I was hoping to hear a bit more about how the games compared to each other, in your opinion. Ecco 2 was my favorite. ;) Of course, it was also the first Ecco game I played, and I found I wasn't really interested in trying the first one after playing the second one. ;D I agree the main difficulty in these games lies not in the gameplay but in trying to figure out where the heck to go next, lol.

  • It's only relaxing when you're not stressing out on trying to get to the next part and in certain areas...

  • oh and i forgot you can download tides of time on the wii virtual console, not sure if the originals on there but hope that was helpful

  • or u can get dega genasis collection it has ecco 1 2 and ecco jr and phantasy star 2.3 and 4 or just download the emulater and the rom

  • ooo didnt know that :) thanks shall check it out (been looking to get the tides of time meself since i loved ecco so much)

  • no problem dude

  • friendly advice you sound like your to close to the mic, back up just a bit,

And I loved the original ecco, got the pc port sega made with the new graphics
