I was wondering if you could help me... What's the reason everyone puts electrical tape on when honing?? Does it have to do with blade angle or saving the top of the blade from being honed?? Please help.
@rbechard it has to do with both. for a big resto job you don't want to grind all that metal off, so you use tape. tape also has the effect of increasing the angle, so if you are double beveling or whatever, it helps.
