That makes no sense does it?:P It is called three cushion billiards because you have to hit at least three cushions with the objectball before you hit the 2nd targetball.

Ok that doesn't make sense either. Now I'll focus: It is called three cushion billiards beacuse you have to hit three cushions(it doesn't matter whether you hit te same cushion multiple times) with your cueball, before you hit your second target ball. There!

amatuer vertical hit - pike(what we call in turkey). you need much more experience. reproducing the shots is more important than doing them.
