My 3 Basset Hounds were anything but.boring. Mine used to love canoeing and surfskiing. They can be prone to a few health problems. Check out the breeder carefully. Bassets, however are not a small dog so maybe go for a corgi or daschund but check the temperment of the parents. If you like the Basset but want a smaller hound, try a Beagle. Hope this helps.
I have a corgi right now. He is THE best. Corgi's are quite active when they're young and are very playful. the only problem with corgis is their legs... If you have a lot of stairs, its bad for their legs.
I have a french basset hound. When she sleeps, she doesn't snore more like she dreams in her sleep and moves then she'll make sounds. It's soo funny to watch her do it.
This video reminds me so much of my boy that I want to cry. I have been away from the boy for more than 2 years & watchng ths video made me want to cry cos I really miss him...my boy does that when he sleeps...the snore sound so so so familiar...I miss my bassett....
used to have a basset! you gotta make sure ur boss, they have STRONG bite :D bit thru the dog food tin in one bite!! ohwell saved on using the dog bowl i suppose =o/

I recently read a AKC breed description that included the phrase "emotionally sensitive", and thought, well, exactly. They're very perceptive and sensitive about the general mood of the household, and sometimes, I swear they can understand every word we say!
Yes, very much so. Mine know exactly what kind of mood I am in and no matter how bad a mood it is, they know how to cheer me up. It also amazes me how smart they are, almost sneaky smart. They know EXACTLY what they can get away with and will take it to that limit.
Exactly!! My boy used to walk himself to the restroom for a time-out (thts hw I punished hm whenever he did something bad) even before I started to raise my voice at him after he did something bad...I ended up giving in to him....sigh....
lol yeah it's cute when i'm awake, but usually when he snores it's when we're all in bed and his head is right next to my head and im trying to sleep lol. i mean it's still cute even then, but you know... impossible to fall asleep.

They are no where near to a boring breed.They are pretty active.Funny and what makes them fun to watch is their apperance.Its all squishy.

yeah my basset snores too, but if you just nudge him a little bit he usually stops. he's still young though, it's only going to get worse.

all three of my hounds snore, sometimes louder than other. I just happen to catch here with my camera handy. You will love them, they are great dogs.
