  • I only watched the 2009 film, and I'd like to ask how did Spock come from the future in the movie if he dies here? Is the Spock who time traveled in the movie from another alternative universe?

  • @fox9ninja

No, it's the same Spock. He's "reborn" in the movie after this one. Then, decades later (in 2387) he ends up going back in time, to an alternate reality, where the 2009 movie takes place.

  • ......Anyone else notice the just shot his dead body into the sun.

That kinda ruined it for me .....

    BTW - RIP XETA

  • @WarfighterSev You -really- lack any form of understanding.

I'm not sure i even want to bother explaining it to you.

  • Back to the emotive comments earlier: I was about 9 when I saw this and I remember crying as well. And I'm not a Trekkie.

It must just be one of those films. AI made me weep like a baby as well. Don't quite know why either.

  • For an 80s movie it has 21st century video quality!

  • What is the song that scotty's is playing???

  • @motrinman19 Amazing Grace

  • @motrinman19 Amazing grace, with an extra note thrown in.

  • i never understood what kirk says at 1:02

    help anyone?

  • @splitsock Orders..Hup

  • I've always liked how the scene transitions from Amazing Grace on the bag pipes to the full orchestra version when the view shifts to the space shot.

  • Oh God, Spock is dead,

    Good Night, Dead head.

Come back in Star Trek 3,

    and see ME-E-E-E-E-E-(breaks down crying)

  • @TheUnholyHandGrenade oops. I meant "goodbye, Dead head."

  • Although I loved the scene it was arrogant of Kirk in not taking Spock's body to Vulcan.

  • Best Star Trek movie EVER!!! The second JJ Abrams Star Trek film will have "The Rock" play Khan, I wonder what it will be like.

  • @borg3of4 Yeah... No he's not.

  • @borg3of4

Before Montalban died he passed his "katra" to "The Rock" to play Khan...GWIM

  • I would so want this to be done at my funeral.

  • when i watched this when i was about 4 years old i started crying and i ran out the cinema and fell so i could not stop crying lol

  • He shoulda used priceline....

  • OH MY GOD! I remember this is the 1st movie that ever made me cry. LOL I was like 5 watchin this with my parents & soon as the music kicked in I started cryin & got up & ran out of the room cuz it felt embarrassing- lol fucken funny now though

  • This has to be one of the saddest scenes in any sci-fi movie ever. I bet it would have been even sadder for someone seeing it on the big screen back before Star Trek III was made and people found out Spock wasnt actually dead.

  • @jfwfreo Believe me, it was. Open weeping in the theater.

  • Khan dislikes this

  • Wow, Kirstie Alley, you're actually kinda hot.

  • thats some send off...

  • I want this to be my funeral.

  • thumbs up to the vid i dis like this cuz Spock is dead until the 3rd movie but still most epic death ever i think

  • CENSORED DUE TO S.O.P.A

  • MANLY TEARS! MANLY TEARS!

  • @MajorHeartFailure this scene can get you where you live

  • One of the most memorable Star Trek scenes eva! (still watching in 2012!!).

Totally want this version of Amazing Grace at MY funeral... and William Shatner giving the eulogy would be awesome *grins*

  • I cry every FUCKING TIME!

  • Of all the Star Trek scenes this one has stuck to me the most. Amazing Grace is a song that makes me want to Trek the Stars - Carl Sagan would agree!!!

  • Of The Wrath of Khan I can only say this:

Of all the plots I have encountered in my travels, its was the most . . . human.

  • Just read something interesting about this scene on on a website that even I hadint realized -

Spock's funeral takes place in Torpedo Bay 1, on the starboard side of the ship. The interior shots, however, show Torpedo Bay 2 (you can see the label and the airlock from the beginning of the movie). Making matters worse, Torpedo Bay 2 was destroyed in the battle with USS Reliant.

So in other words, they should not be able to fire Spock's Torpedo Coffin at all in the bleeden first place.

  • not stupid I cry every time I watch it good but sad scene

along with the spock death scene

  • stupid as it might sound this brings a tear to my eye...

  • of course scotty plays the pipes

  • sulu seems so effeminately gay when he removes the flag

    maybe coz he is?

  • I wept the first time I saw this and every time I see it good to know he comes back love scifi unlimted possibilities

  • *manly tears*

  • what is the name of the song at the end

  • @TheDarkskyproduction Amazing Grace

  • My girlfriend hates startrek, I finally got her to watch this movie, and she cried like a baby when Spoke died.

Finally conclusive proof she's a human.

  • @willd3rbeast Delete this comment and spell Spock's name right.

  • @berretaboy357 oh snap i really called him Spoke lol

  • @willd3rbeast lol

  • Comment removed

  • Not to nerd-out or anything, but in the description it should say "Admiral Kirk" and not "Captain Kirk".

  • Sonic bloopers ALOT better with " the monster" and Mario plus family guy is ok

  • Ironicly, the Family Guy parody of this scene brought me here.

  • @TheLOLCOPPER

    same

  • @Metaldood4500 I have to admit, this is a saddening scene for fans of the Sci-Fi Universe

  • @TheLOLCOPPER same here man

  • @TheLOLCOPPER Ironically, this movie's epicness brought me here

  • @TheLOLCOPPER me 2 !

  • @TheLOLCOPPER me too

  • For once, that over-dramatic pause doesn't seem over-dramatic.

  • Why was the last part cut out?
