priest and thin lizzy (although lizzy isn't metal) used harmony's before them, so yes Maiden did contribute to metal but harmonies were there before them.
thin lizzy had little harmony influence. priest was good with harmonies and stuff, but maiden took it to whole new places, which ended up in stuff like every trivium riff uve ever heard, or like south of heaven-like slayer stuff, or megadeth like hangar 18, or anything. they changed the game.
yeah definately maiden certainly are the most influential for harmonies in metal because they did so many of them and they harmonised some weird stuff. maiden also brought the whole gallop rhythm to metal.

Are you crazy? Bruce Dickinson is accepted as - at least - a better technical singer than Ozzy, not to mention he has a more appealing voice.
Added to that, the guitarists of Iron Maiden helped define the styles of heavy metal guitarists for decades, even up until now. Tony Iommi set the blueprint yes, but it was basically a beefier version of the blues and Iron Maiden took the guitar in a different direction while keeping the blues influence.

Um, the solos? Dave Murray, Adrian Smith and Janick Gers are all great soloists who use aspects of the blues, jazz and classical music in their solos.
Not to mention that Bruce sings better, technically, than Ozzy ever did. His songs are about as funny as Ozzy's, by the way and if you think Bruce's lyrics are all fantasy, then you're clearly listening to a different band than us.
