When Nel looked into her reflection the first two times and her face looked different the ghost was messing with the reflections, though the second time she looked she looked like a man. Was the ghost trying to make her reflection look like Luke or Dr. Marrows reflections?

I know that there are some people who will disagree with me, but I just didn't find Lili Taylor's perfromance all that convincing in the last half hour of the movie. Before that she was strong; insecure, likeable and relatable. In the final act though, she seems surprisingly forced. I don't believe that she's in mortal peril when she's pinned to the bed and the ghost is threatening her, because she just doesn't seem realistically scared. Don't get me started on the screaming; ouch!

The ghost retaliates by dragging him into the fireplace and decapitating him with the flume (which almost happened to a character early in the film - not sure if it was the guy who is eventually decapitated, but it could have. If it was, then it was foreshadowing his eventual decapitation).
