And, its still a comedy at heart, so Rob and Doug never wanted the sci-fi to hamper that, only support it to a degree.

I just noticed something. Listers Guitar in the first season was a regular acoustic guitar. Now in part 1 I saw it had changed to a Gibson Explorer. Then I also realized that in season 3 it becomes a Les Paul brand. How the hell is he getting these different guitars?

The explorer only appears once so it may have been someone else's who used to live on the ship. Also in series 8 when they are back on red dwarf there is an acoustic in their room again so Lister must just have two guitars.

He got oiled (yum) in episode 3, fell in love and finally got laid in episode 1, we see him in stockings and a corset in episode 5, and we get Mr. Flibble in episode 4, plus the last episode (Back to Reality) is one of my all time favorites of the entire show.

All in all, series 5 comes out waaay on top Rimmer wise. (Yum)
