I always thought the Baselard was an impressive weapon early game, but it IS a dagger I always preferred the longer range of the swords. Sacrificing the higher damage for maneuverability seemed like a good way to stay alive.

Roahm, as good as the Baselard is, the Zombie Soldiers have a better weapon for the early game: the Combat Knife. Getting that one early on on Normal Mode renders things pretty easy for a good, long while. :3

Possible low blow aside, listening to your...enthusiasm for Ghost is rather interesting, especially since its power seems to basically be Dual "Summon Spirit" from Symphony of the Night. But, hey, whatever works.

Besides, I'm far more intrigued that there's a Durga monster in this game. It's extremely coincidental that I recently decide to start looking into that Hindu deity and it pops up here. Oh, Konami.

@RoahmMythril The Ghost soul is Holy-type. That's one of the reasons it was doing alot of damage. Also you do need 100% souls to get the best acessory, as I thought. I'll PM you where it is.

Roahm, I think you would also enjoy a lot Durga's soul (throws a katana in a straight line, possibly doing 2 hit in large enemies; costs 20 MP; was my favorite at the beginning, just after Ghost).

Also, don't know about you, but I prefer a balance between Range and Power in my weapons, so don't just look at the damage the weapon does. The Baselard is very powerful, but you take a lot of hits to get close to an enemy and stab it. The Rapier you got has decent Power and better Range.

Ghost definitely is perfect for undead, but obviously you should switch back to something like the axe for living bosses and the like, what with their huge hitboxes.

3:03 and it seems Ghost does Holy damage. You can tell what element an attack does by it's hitsparks.

Roahm, I just realized that the hearts you collect recovers your MP meter. In a way, all of the soul abilities you have uses heart points. Therefore, your MP meter is also your heart meter.

I know it's a bit silly, but I have a love for one of the mid-game weapons, perhaps even over the late game ones. You'll know which one it is when you feel more like a Belmont than any of the other weapons. :3

@EvilMariobot It's a great weapon with a decent attack, but it's really outshone damage wise by the later weapons... but I still love it to pieces, since it got me through so many fights just because of its range rather than its brute force... though I did like the poison sword and the 'big f***ing sword' when it got late game.

Roahm, I think Graham would be pronounced "Gram" as in "Graham cracker," but that's just me. Also, the wording in that Flying Armor soul description leads me to believe jumps go higher while it's in effect.

Roahm you should try out most new weapons even if they are staticticaly weaker. The Rapier for instance surely has a lot more range than the Baselard and might feel better in combat because of this.

@PitLetsPlays Yeah, don't just look at the stats when picking your main weapon. The rapier has better range than the baselard and I'm pretty sure that its fighting animation uses less frames, meaning you can attack more often and from a safer distance, so despite the 5 points downgrade in power you'll kill stuff faster and take less damage. Goes for other weapons as well - the Kaiser Knuckle is amongst the best weapons in the game but its basic stats make it look like one of the worst. ;)

@lordsathien When poisoned, it just boosts your defensive stats. Decent, but not really all that amazing or anything. I'd prefer not to get poisoned and take an easily avoided hit just to show a stat boost ;)
